We are deeply saddened to inform you of the sudden passing of Joseph Forshaw IV. Mr. Forshaw was the faithful husband of 44 years to Fred and Phyllis Schlafly’s older daughter, Liza.
Many of you may know Liza Forshaw from her leadership of the Cardinal Mindszenty Foundation, an educational organization that honors Venerable Joseph Cardinal Mindszenty of Hungary and continues the work of combating Communist ideology. Mrs. Forshaw took on this role in 2012 at the retirement of CMF’s founder, Eleanor Schlafly (Fred Schlafly’s sister).
The sudden passing of Joe Forshaw is a tragic loss for the Forshaw and Schlafly families. Joe was often a presence with Liza at our Eagle events, and was always quick with a smile and warm conversation.
Please join with us in praying for the Lord’s strength and comfort for Liza, their three children, grandson, and all of their family and friends who mourn now for this sudden loss.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (RSV): “But we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.”
