Molly McCann Sanders Appointed New President to Lead Phyllis Schlafly’s Organization for a New Generation
For Immediate Release: November 10, 2025
Clayton, Missouri: On November 1st, the Board of Directors elected Molly McCann Sanders as the new president of Eagle Forum Education & Legal Defense Fund—a 501(c)(3) organization founded by iconic conservative leader Phyllis Schlafly in 1981.
Mrs. Sanders’ appointment marks a new and exciting era for Eagle Forum Education & Legal as she carries Phyllis’s mantle for the next generation of patriotic Americans defending God, family, and country. Like Phyllis, Mrs. Sanders is a wife, mother, lawyer, writer, and political activist. The Board of Directors expects a vibrant and productive future for Phyllis’s legacy as Mrs. Sanders brings her impressive resume and talent to the service of the organization.

Mrs. Sanders, 37, is an accomplished appellate lawyer who clerked for the Hon. Edith H. Jones on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and was counsel with Sidney Powell on the defense of Gen. Michael Flynn, litigating against the Mueller team and the U.S. Department of Justice. More recently, while Of Counsel at the Binnall Law Group, Mrs. Sanders litigated multiple cases on behalf of President Donald J. Trump defending his presidential immunity (most prominently penning the appellate brief in the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals for Blassingame v. Trump, 22-5069).
Multiple conservative news outlets have published Mrs. Sanders’ political op-eds, including The Federalist (where she was a Senior Contributor), The Epoch Times, Human Events, The American Mind, American Greatness, and others.
Mrs. Sanders is no stranger to Eagle Forum Education & Legal. Her mother, Noreen McCann, opened Phyllis’s first Washington, D.C. office in 1981 and was Phyllis’s lobbyist on Capitol Hill for much of the Reagan administration. Mrs. Sanders was raised in Eagle Forum, accompanying her mother to almost every Eagle Council and January leaders’ meetings, and she was active as a volunteer in Missouri Eagle Forum. She has spent years in grassroots politics and has held leadership positions in campaigns at the local, state, and federal level.
Mrs. Sanders: “Phyllis Schlafly was one of the greatest women ever to have operated in American politics—perhaps the greatest. Carrying on her legacy is a significant privilege and, of course, a challenge to live up to. I am honored by the trust the Board has placed in me to take on Phyllis’s mantle and lead such a storied organization.”
John Schlafly: “Along with her impressive legal credentials, Molly brings a long and fruitful history of working alongside Phyllis and her Eagles. We are thrilled with this leadership choice to advance the work and values of Phyllis Schlafly for the next generation of Americans.”
