Washington, D.C.: The Senate hearing to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh as the next U.S. Supreme Court Justice began this morning with a slew of Democrat pomp and liberal activist circus antics. Disgraceful breaches of Senate decorum continuously interrupted proceedings this morning, from both protestors and liberal Senators.
"The predictable Democratic script of complaints will continue today and all week – complaining of the lack of records provided on Judge Kavanaugh," said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. "The fact is, the numbers just don’t support their wild antics. The Senate Judiciary Committee has received more than twice the documents on Kavanaugh than any previous Supreme Court nominee and more than five times the documents of the last five Supreme Court nominees combined."
Martin continued: "In his long judicial record, Judge Kavanaugh’s opinions have been praised, invoked, and joined by both Democrats and Republicans at every level, including the U.S. Supreme Court. The reality is, Judge Kavanaugh is one of the best defenders of the Constitution and has a nearly unimpeachable judicial record and reputation.
"Every Democrat protest today has been vague, procedural, and lacking in any specific substance. They simply don’t have a solid complaint about Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh’s impeccable credentials and record. They are bitter about the choice of American people in November of 2016. And they are bitter that the vast majority of Americans feel like our country and their personal lives are improving. Don’t be fooled by Democratic circus antics. Judge Brett Kavanaugh is a fantastic jurist who will defend the Constitution from any attack and preserve our American liberties."
