St. Louis MO: Last week the Illinois Senate passed the long-expired Equal Rights Amendment. Years ago, many states saw through this false-flag of the feminist agenda and didn't ratify it. Five states even rescinded their ratifications. Radical feminists and liberals can't get over it, and now they are spreading the myth that the ERA is still alive and available for ratification.
Eight Republican Illinois state senators voted to pass ERA. Five of them claim to hold pro-life convictions. Illinois pro-lifers should know that these senators betrayed their supposed values and cast a vote in direct opposition to the sanctity of life.
"The Equal Rights Amendment would codify directly into the Constitution a right to abortion and taxpayer funding of it," said Phyllis Schlafly Eagles President Ed Martin. "The defense of human life is a conviction – not a preference. Illinois voters need to know that state senators are masquerading as Republicans on one hand, and with the other are trading in our inalienable rights for politically correct delusion."
Martin continued: "Phyllis Schlafly knew and convinced states' legislatures that the Equal Rights Amendment had nothing to do with more rights for women. It has everything to do with destroying the nuclear family and the rights and privileges that women currently have. Voting for this charade is irresponsible and – when it comes to pre-born life – immoral. The Illinois Senate ought to be ashamed, and those who feign 'Republicanism' ought to have voters shame them right out of office."
Now it's up to the Illinois House to consider common sense and to defend the rights of American women and families. It's time for the Illinois House of Representatives to vote down – yet again – the failed ERA.
