Washington, D.C.: Representative Ann Wagner's flagship legislation in the 115th Congress passed the House on Tuesday by an overwhelming vote. The 'Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act of 2017' would, according to proponents, give more legal clarity and teeth to prosecutors to go after online websites that host trafficking communications.
"This is a great step forward and we are happy to see this legislation pass," said Ed Martin, President of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. "Ann Wagner's tenacious work on this bill is to be commended. She has fought long and hard to crack down on an issue that runs rampant across the world, affecting so many families even here in the United States.
"We encourage her and her colleagues in the House and Senate to take this victory as an opportunity to launch into another assault against the dignity of human life: illegal immigration. With trafficking so rampant in immigrant communities in the United States, the tie-in with illegal immigration is an excellent launching point to push forward the Trump agenda to build a border wall, and put in place tougher protections against dangerous illegal migration.
