Supremacist Judge William Alsup of Federal District Court in San Francisco Orders Trump to Continue DACA
St. Louis, MO: Late Tuesday night, Judge William Alsup of the Federal District Court in San Francisco ordered President Donald Trump to allow DACA recipients, known as "dreamers," to reapply for the program. The Trump administration had announced that the DACA program would be allowed to expire on March 5.
"This is an outrageous and blatant example of an activist judge legislating from the bench," said Ed Martin, President of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. "Judicial Supremacists, as Phyllis Schlafly named them, are alive and well in 2018. We can find no finer example of legislating from the bench than a federal judge who orders a program that is both unconstitutional and unrelated to American Citizens to stay in place because he thinks it a good idea.
"We look forward to this foolishness being dealt with and to the rightful end of the unconstitutional Obama-era DACA program. We applaud President Trump for taking steps to protect the integrity of the rule of law in this matter and and we urge opposition to this ridiculous mandate from an out of control judge."
On a similar note, Phyllis Schlafly Eagles is very pleased with the stellar records set in the placement of so many constitutionalist judges by the Trump Administration in 2017. There is much damage to be undone by a federal bench full of bad appointees by both Republican and Democrat presidents alike. We encourage more of the same excellent decisions made by the Trump Administration on federal judge appointments. There is much yet to clean up.
