Legislatures Should Demand Audits, Voter Confidence Measures
Washington, D.C.: “As we comb through the findings of the Maricopa County audit, it’s clear to see we need more auditing, not less,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “The Maricopa results show more than 50,000 ballots cast illegally, a number that far surpasses the margin of victory in November 2020.
“While these numbers are beyond troubling, even more telling is that the audit revealed these staggering numbers without even full access to the information! This should embolden every single state legislature around the nation to start rattling the cage of election processes in their state. If voters aren’t confident in the system, our republic simply won’t work. The unfolding Maricopa audit should be a lesson to the Arizona legislature and every state — fight for the voice of the people. Fight for transparency in our electoral system! Fight for the bedrock of our republic.”
