Washington, D.C.: “Clarence Thomas is the personification of the American Dream,” said the late Phyllis Schlafly in July 1991. Tomorrow will mark the 30th anniversary of Justice Thomas’s tenure as an associate justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.
“Justice Thomas is an American of exceptional character,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “As we celebrate his thirty years of excellent jurisprudence on the High Court, I am reminded of the fine example he sets for us all. From the day of his nomination, he has demonstrated a bold and unbending dedication to the truth.
“It’s no wonder Justice Thomas was so beloved by my late mentor Phyllis Schlafly. I can think of no better way commemorate his thirty years than by sharing the poem Phyllis wrote in his honor and presented to him in 1995.
