Washington, D.C.: On Saturday the world witnessed another tragic and shocking display of violence at a synagogue in Poway, California. Unlike many recent “active shooter” situations, an armed good guy was there to stop this vicious killer.
“Our hearts are broken for our Jewish brothers and sisters in Poway, California this week,” said Phyllis Schlafly Eagles President Ed Martin, “but we are thankful for Jonathan Morales and Oscar Stewart, an off-duty Border Patrol agent and an Army veteran. Jonathan and Oscar gave immediate chase when shots rang out in the synagogue, forcing the shooter to flee. They pursued him to his car and Morales was able to fire on the vehicle before the killer sped away.
“Two men, one of whom was legally armed, saved the lives of many.”
