White House Uses Mass Shootings to Justify Unrelated, Unconstitutional Gun Control
Washington, D.C.: “The Biden administration this week launched its first big assault on the 2nd Amendment rights of Americans,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “The new executive edicts reek not only of D.C. swamp bureaucracy but of dictatorial power centralization.
“Biden’s gun control measures are typical of leftist policy. Rather than addressing the root causes of violent crime, they seek to ban tools that scare a powerful government who fears an armed, vigilant citizenry. These new mandates go beyond specific types of firearms or accessories, however, and institutionalize wildly dangerous red flag laws. This essentially opens the door to the stripping of someone’s 2nd Amendment rights without due process.”
Martin concluded: “Perhaps most typical of all the leftist nonsense throughout these gun control orders is the fact that they rely entirely on executive agencies to create and enforce! Not one of these new rules goes through Congress — they aren’t laws, they are decrees from a centralized leader and his agencies. The left is using the tired line that ‘most Americans agree’ with their gun control agenda, but time and again they bypass our representative body to create new laws by decree. Americans must stand up against Biden’s dictatorial policies.
