The following is a transcript from the Pro America Report.
Welcome Welcome, welcome. Ed Martin here on the Pro America Report. We have a great program.
We will catch up with my old friend John Cribb. His book Of course, is called The Rail Splitter. The Rail Splitter it’s out in a few weeks on Abe Lincoln. It’s phenomenal, he’s great, and we’re looking forward to, I’m looking forward to talking to him
And then Brett Attebery, Brett Attebery is a pro-life leader from Texas, Dallas, Texas. He runs a big pregnancy Resource Center and he’s a very interesting guy, written a book called Your Pro-Life Bottom Line. I think it will surprise you what he recommends if you wanna help Be pro-life. You wanna be pro-life. Very interesting guy. I am looking forward to talking with him. I’ve got my way most of the way through the book as you know. So looking forward to that.
Hey, I’m, tomorrow we will talk with Christina Bobb. She is the Trump lawyer, worked for Donald Trump, former Marine, worked for One America News, a lawyer, a very impressive lady. You probably have seen her out and about on TV and all. She’s got a book out and her book is called Stealing Your Vote: What the inside story of the 2020 election and what it means for 2024, Skyhorse Publishing, I’ll be very interesting to hear from her. We’ll look forward to that.
And I have to tell you I spent some time with a friend of mine. I, I guess I won’t say who that was, but yeah, I won’t say who that was we were talking though about something called this Project 65, the Project 65, which is an effort by the Democrats literally Democrats announced and raised money to target and punish lawyers who represented clients who were standing up for their clients who were protesting, who are worried about the elections. And they, this is something that’s unacceptable, unacceptable to the left, and they’re raising the cost literally of being a lawyer who happens to take on conservative clients. It’s a very good example of how raising the cost of something is meant to have an impact on other people.
Meaning, if you’re a young lawyer and you see Christina Bobb, a very accomplished person, a major in the military, you know, lawyer all that and you see and and and one American News journalist, award-winning, you know, very poised woman, attractive, and you see her getting bludgeoned figuratively by the media for representing her client. You say I don’t wanna represent clients in politics and this doesn’t happen on the left. You can represent and defend Eric Swalwell when he has a scandal over a Chinese spy. You can represent Bill Clinton over his picadilloes whatever. You can do whatever you want to do, and you can be. You can represent Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton over the server. You can. It doesn’t matter.
And this is an ongoing effort to target the people who are willing to say and do the hard things. Meaning, if you’re willing to say and say that the election in 2020 was troubling and you’re willing to do something about it, you’re going to pay you have to pay. That’s the business model of the left right now you have to pay. You have to pay a price. It’s a disturbing thing. It’s a very disturbing thing and we should be more concerned about it than I think many people are. So there you have it. We’ll talk with Christina Bobb. I believe that’s scheduled for tomorrow, but I’ll make sure to bring that up again, alright? A couple of things.
Today What you need to know is, it appears we are now fully in a proxy war with Russia. Now, my point here is not — well no, I’m opposed to a proxy war with Russia. I am opposed. I am not for invading other countries. I am not for the suffering of innocents, et cetera, et cetera. All those caveats. But at this point, President Biden has announced he’s giving American tanks to the Ukrainians. And uh, Europeans have followed our lead once we said it was OK, they’re doing it too. The Germans as well as the Poles. I think the Poles are are using, they have German tanks, they’re giving them the tanks and so is Germany. But basically we’re giving the Ukrainians offensive weapons. Until now we have been, I think at least able to say with something of a straight face. We’re kind of giving you weapons to defend yourself. I know there have been some missiles and things, but now we’re saying we’re gonna arm you with tanks. This will allow you to escalate the war.
That this is now a proxy war.
It’s no longer a war where you know we have some interest. It’s a proxy war and we’re fighting Russia. This is a terrible idea, and here’s the thing, the Americans don’t want it. They don’t want it. The fact is this, that as I think it was, Matt Gaetz said. We’ve given over $100 billion to the Ukraine, and we know less about where they’re spending their money than America. And the the reality is, we have no accountability, no transparency. We don’t know what’s happening there. And we’re pouring money in. And now we’re giving them tanks. We’re giving them tanks on top of it. It’s a terrible, terrible idea. It’s an idea that I really wish that there would be a a broader discussion amongst the citizens, and I say this as everybody knows I’m a I’m conservative, so I tend to lean Republican. But the Republican Party is largely on board with this proxy war with Russia
And you say to yourself, why are we doing this? What is it? What’s in our interest? Is it that we somehow feared the the Russians? Do we really fear them? I mean, we should fear that they have nuclear weapons. But did we really fear them. I, I find the the Chinese regime, the communist regime in China much more troubling, much more problematic. I think most normal people do. You know, I I had someone. Say to me it’s an interesting thought experiment.
Think about the number of people. Who and, you know? Let’s say you have to be about 50 years old or older to remember this well, but starting in the 1970s and all the way through into the ’90s, if you were studying studying international affairs, you you there was a slight diversion to study Japan because of their manufacturing success. And there was lots of people in fact, that I, I think when I was talking with was I talking with one of the. The the Brett Attebery who’s gonna be our guest in a few minutes where I was talking to one of his friends and looked at his bio. He he he studied Japanese so a lot of people studied Japanese but, from the 1970s through about the mid 90s. The number one topic of international study was Russia, Soviet studies. People studied Russian language and they studied the Soviet Union and they studied the contours of the Soviet Union, its history, what had happened, all the different aspects of it. They studied the the history of the of the of the political regimes There and the Marxism and all this stuff. How many of those people who studied and did masters degrees and and pH D’s in Soviet studies in the late ’80s and the ’90s are still in the State Department are still in the CIA and what they know if if everything, If you’re a hammer, everything looks like a nail. You know what I mean?
What you need to know is right now is, how many people are Soviet experts and therefore they see the threat in the world as Russia? Because I see the threat in the world as China and the fact that TikTok is changing our brains and that China is stealing our intellectual property and that China’s patent system is totally corrupt and on and on and fentanyl is raiding our country on and on and on. Right?
And yet somehow the people with power have us focused. Dramatically on Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia. Now I hope that the result of this proxy war is that somehow we drain the So the Russians of any you know military might they might have, but we won’t drain them of their nukes. I mean, if you’re the if you’re the Russians you can, You can drop down from how many thousands, how many thousands of nuclear weapons does the does the Russian does the the the Russian army have? I mean, it it it’s. I think it. I think the number that I had in my head was thirty, yeah, 35,000. 35,000. I believe that’s somewhere and I was gonna say 30,000, but the the they’re they’re the the reality is we don’t even know. By the way, we don’t even know for sure, and but we know that they have, oh I’m sorry, oh let me say it differently. Looks like 6,000 is the number that people say. But let’s say they dropped down to 600. Or 60. If you have 60 nukes and you’re able to keep the nuclear arsenal of 60, aimed the right ways, able to be used the right ways. I think that’s about the same as having 6000.
And my point here is we don’t win by degrading the Russian economy by degrading the Russian people. We don’t win that way. We don’t win the the the nuclear problem. Well, they say differently. We don’t solve the nuclear problem that way. In fact, I would say that chances are high that if you degrade the Soviet Union, the Russians enough, you drive them into the arms of the Chinese. I think that’s I think that’s the most likely scenario. I really do. I really do. I think that’s the most likely scenario and one that we should be more worried about than people are willing to, to pay attention to, to pay attention to it’s it’s a it’s a problem. So there you have it alright we’re gonna watch that but that’s the news Joe Biden announcing dramatically he’s a he’s a big war fighter. He’s sending tanks to another country to fight a proxy war with a nuclear power. Sounds good to me.
Alright when we come back we will talk with As I mentioned, we will visit with John Cribb, my friend and then Brett Atterbery. So come on back for that. It’s Ed Martin here on The Pro America Report. We will be back.
