The following is a transcript from the Pro America Report.
Welcome, Welcome, welcome. It’s Ed Martin here on the Pro America Report. Great to be together. Lots to cover and, you know, a couple of anniversaries this week.
In a few moments, we’ll talk with Roger Stone. Roger Stone, five years ago this week, he was that they they set him up. To raid his house at 6:00 in the morning. I think it was about 6:00 in the morning and. They had like 29 or 30 agents and more important than anything they had tipped off CNN. So CNN was there to cover it and it was incredibly demeaning. I mean, intentionally so. And so we’ll talk with Roger Stone and we’ll get an update from him. He’s doing well, although he’s a target of lawfare almost, almost no one is a target of lawfare. To the extent he is. Except for Trump. But Roger’s got, like dozens and dozens of actions against him. It’s really a terrible thing. It’s insane what they’ve done to him and his wife, and, and he’s still pretty good spirits. So when you talk to him, really good spirits, actually, he’s kind of a man of faith and sort of renewed in a way. But we’ll talk with him and I’ll let we’ll get an update.
We’ll get a catch up with Conrad. Black. Lord Conrad Black, who is Canadian. He sits in the British House of Lords. A publisher and author. He’s got a new book on the history. History of the world, basically The Political and Strategic History of the World, Volume I., he’s got. I think he’s got 3 volumes coming anyway. He’s he’ll be with us. He also just recently hosting Tucker Carlson. Tucker Carlson went to Canada and Conrad Black I noticed was in the news as one of the hosts up there. So we will talk with him.

And I’m going to do a segment later on in the show segment 4, we call it in our planning about the new owner, owners of the Baltimore Sun, the Baltimore Sun is the Newspaper historic newspaper. Home of HL Menken. People don’t realize the historic nature of Baltimore as a city, not only because of its. Early, you know, in the in the founding era, I think the capital of of America was there for a period of time, maybe for just about six months or a year, briefly when they had to move around, but also because it was the only Catholic city in America. Even though people think of Boston now, there’s a lot of Irish in Boston now. Baltimore was the first Catholic Diocese, first Catholic Church and it has a historic relationship to the world Catholic Church because of that, people like Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. Who became a incredible educator, teacher and a and a founder of religious order. The the Carrolls, the family, the Carrolls that became John Carroll University and other places all came out of Maryland anyway. Historic place, Baltimore Sun, purchased by a native son, David Smith. And I’ll talk about that in a moment. Alright, but first.
When Pierre Delecto Pierre Delecto, which was the screen name the the hidden name, the nom de guerre of Mitt Romney, it turns out Mitt Romney was on Twitter using the the the name Pierre Delecto, which is like insane that that’s the name he picked. But anyway, it’s Mitt Romney, after all. He emerged. He’s in the US Senate, of course, and he emerged to condemn everybody for not wanting the greatest border deal in the history of the world.
Now the border deal, the deal that is proposed by the Senate. And by guys like Romney is lots of money for Ukraine. Lots of money for Israel and then something that we’re told is going to help protect our border, but they don’t really tell us, and mostly they tell us at least 5000 a week or 5000 a month will be allowed in, and whenever the whenever the people in the Senate, whenever the gangs in the Senate years ago as Gang of 6, Gang of eight whenever gang happens, which is bipartisanship, you know that conservatives and therefore Americans are gonna get the shaft and that’s how it is in this case.
Mitt Romney is saying that it’s Donald Trump. Donald Trump’s not in the Senate, by the way, Donald Trump is not a US senator, but it’s Donald Trump’s fault that the Senate is not passing a deal because Donald Trump says he wants the issue of immigration for his election in 2024, which is insane.
The the the man who’s made immigration and the border an issue is Joe Biden. There’s there’s video floating around of Gavin Newsom and Joe Biden saying that refugees and and immigrants to America is at the all time low in 2019, all time low. It needs to change. They say we need more. And now we’ve opened up the borders for almost three years, we’ve opened up the borders. Joe Biden got his wish, opened up the borders, and it’s a disaster. It is, everybody agrees. Democrats more and more are agreeing.
But somehow that Mitt Romney’s gonna come out and you’re watching this because it’s such a disaster. The White House, the Democrats, the media are trying to find some way to blame Trump. They they usually try to find some way to blame Republicans, but then they say in this case, it’s blame Trump.
The border’s wide open. The people of Texas and their governor are demanding, and other states are joining in that that they do something to stop this influx. The the issues of fentanyl and sex trafficking. All those things are known. But right now it’s it clearly just a national security question. How can this be happening? And somehow you’re watching an effort to blame Trump.
It’s blame Trump time, and they’re trying to blame Trump, and they’re trying to say it’s Trump’s fault. It won’t work.
Let me just tell you something. If you’re the president, you end up taking on the blame of what’s going on. You don’t you you can say ohh, I wish like the, for example, the economy. There’ll be times where there will be people in office, presidents in office who say, well, the economy’s not my fault there. There’s too much spending on the Democrats or Republicans would say that it’s not my fault. It you know that they they kind of I think George W. I think I actually George HW Bush might have been able to say this. Don’t blame me for the economy there were Democrats in office blah blah blah. Doesn’t matter. Whoever’s in the big seat carries the blame, carries the blame and the credit. If you happen to be in the big seat when things go right. Fight a war, for example. You know, control something like the border. You’ll get the credit. But that’s not what Joe Biden’s doing.
In fact, Joe Biden’s got us in four or five six wars. At least skirmishes all over the world. He’s got the border wide open, and now you’re watching this concerted effort to try to lie. And tell us the economy’s great. Oh, the economy’s great. Inflation is is is only inflation is only going up. Inflation is only a couple of points. Couple a couple percentage, not even percentage, couple tenths of a point except inflation’s already gone up about over the last three years about 10%. It didn’t stop it didn’t it didn’t go back. If you lost 10% of the value of your purchasing power, it didn’t go back down. It just stopped growing fast. That’s what they’re saying.
I will say this that the energy prices, it seems like somehow energy prices have not are not are not skyrocketing yet. I mean they’re still high, they’re still higher, but they’re not, you know, going up to $5 a gallon, at least where I am. In California, they are I think but but my point here is something something about the energy prices. I’m surprised at that. Although I will say in the winter months here. I I we we saw our winter heating bills and they’re up. And they’re up now. It feels like when you see the first heating bill, like in in December was cold enough they they were seeing that, you say, well, that’s because it got cold, but it’s also up.
But my point here is they’re gonna tell us the economy’s great and nobody believes it.
Nobody believes it. I’ve told you this before and I’ll reiterate it again. I actually think it’s going to be very difficult for anyone to be a two term president consecutively, maybe because the nature of the media, the nature of social media, the nature of big tech, the nature of the mainstream media is to nitpick, to look for crises and and not just not, not just nitpick, but look for crises. Find ways to to deliver critical news that agitates both sides.
And so, you know, by the time you’re Biden, at this point, you’ve got, you’ve got the people that want to, Hamas to be empowered. They’re mad at him. They’re interrupting his his speeches. The economy, everybody. Nobody really believes. Nobody believes it’s doing better. All these different things. You got all these different ways that you get the blame and you get the blame. You get the blame. You no one says. Ohh well, the guy that’s not in office. It’s his fault. Doesn’t work that way. It just doesn’t work that way. As a matter of politics, you can try and you will see Joe Biden is going to try. He’s going to try to blame Trump for everything. But it doesn’t work. It it only works with your base and it does work with your base, so you know women that care about abortion rights, they’re gonna be motivated when Joe Biden is talking about Roe and the fact that Donald Trump is the guy who delivered the the changes to the court that got us rid of Roe, but that, that that only gets him his base. That doesn’t get him anybody else. Nobody else out there says Ohh well, you know the Wall Street Journal says that the economy is OK. Nobody believes that. Nobody believes they think that they’re being spun. Even the Wall Street Journal, by the the Biden White House and you know, the stock market’s up. As I’ve told you before, the stock market being up only helps big business, the stock market being up does not help regular people it it it? Maybe they should think of it a little bit more broadly, because if you’re, if you’re someone who has a regular pension your pension fund is probably up a little bit because of the stock market being up, but normal people know that the Wall Street is what benefits from the stock market, so it doesn’t help them. What normal people know is, is inflation. Is inflation and unemployment and unemployment has been is pretty good right now. I meant to say like I gotta give credit where it’s due. I mean it’s not, it’s not, it’s not out of control, but again if you’re if you’re stuck in a job where your your dollars going 10% or less far than it used To and the economy is stalled, which is how it feels. It’s not going to do much good so. There you have it.
Alright, we gotta take a break. We gotta take a break. We got Roger Stone coming up as well as Conrad Black. So we’ll be right back it’s Ed Martin here on the Pro America Report. Back in a moment.
