Washington, D.C.: The Trump administration celebrated a big win this week, conveniently unreported by mainstream news. A lengthy national security review has finally killed an Obama-era deal to allow Chinese COSCO Shipping Holdings Co. to control the Port of Long Beach in southern California, the United States’s second busiest container port.
“The news won’t report it but Americans need to know that Trump is playing hardball with Communist China and delivering wins for our nation,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “China has been buying up cargo ports across the globe, creating leverage for Beijing in their economic war with the West. This ouster of Chinese Communists from one of our largest and most vital sea ports is a big win. It’s also a sharp rebuke of the Obama administration’s trade policies. American voters ought to know who’s fighting for them: the Trump administration.”
