Washington, D.C.: “Americans are still celebrating the Dobbs decision and its allowance of an end to abortion in many states,” said Ed Martin, President of the Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Unfortunately, woke federal agencies under the Biden Administration are going to continue to push the boundaries of the Supreme Court’s new precedent. Leftist-run agencies, who talk so much about immigrant rights, are making sure that immigrant babies do not get a right to life.”
A memo from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Tae Johnson stated that all immigration detention centers must ensure “full reproductive healthcare” for women. This even includes moving a detained immigrant to another state if the one that they are held in doesn’t allow for abortion.
“Two important things come to mind,” Martin continued. “First, why are we spending these resources on detained illegal immigrants? The Biden Administration cannot be in the business of giving out free abortion trips like woke companies are choosing to do. The Judicial branch has handed the question of abortion squarely into the hands of lawmakers, not enforcement and regulatory agents.
“Second, this reminds us that the fight over abortion is far from over. Biden’s executive branch will stop at nothing to continue this evil, and even use our taxpayer dollars to make sure of it! It’s time for Congress and the judiciary to rein in the executive branch, and time for states to stand up for their own rights and authority.”
