VA Gov. Blocks Chinese-Connected Ford Plant, Other States Should Also Consider
Washington, D.C.: “Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin is getting flak from the left for blocking a Ford plant that would have included Chinese technology for batteries, but I say good on him for standing up for American innovation!” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “The Biden administration is doing absolutely nothing to combat China’s aggressive economic warfare across the globe. If the U.S. is to shun these entanglements, we’re going to need bold leaders at the state level to protect their citizens.
“Youngkin is in good company, following actions similar to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp in taking steps to limit the economic entanglements their states have with the Chinese Communist Party.
“State officials are cracking down on China through more platforms than just manufacturing. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem made news, and others have followed suit, in banning TikTok and other China-owned softwares on state devices.
“These are all great moves and we need to see more of them from the fifty states! When the federal level is leading the wrong way on foreign policy issues, Governors and state legislatures must pick up the slack and defend the people. Good for Governor Youngkin and may this continue to grow into an avalanche of pro-America policy.”
