Shred of Good News On the Verge of Title 42 Protection’s End
Washington, D.C.: “With just days left until Title 42 protections end at our southern border, Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk has provided a glimmer of good news,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “This federal judge just put the Biden Administration’s plan to end Trump’s ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy on hold.
“The Migrant Protection Protocols (as the policy is officially named) has allowed many would-be immigrants to wait out their asylum claims in Mexico, not released into the U.S. interior. This policy has been a huge boost for our Customs and Border Patrol agents, and its end would surely spell even more chaos on top of the daily disaster they try to manage.”
Martin concluded, “As our border control forces brace for the end of Title 42 health protections next week, we hope and pray and are grateful for every single pause in the Biden Administration’s rollback of Trump-era border protections. The lawlessness and abject failure of this administration to secure and control our border is an embarrassment and worthy of prosecution.”
