Former Biden Border Head Sounds Alarm on Wasted Money
Washington,D.C.: “While it’s not surprising that leftists want to burn through taxpayer money, the picture painted by former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott is particularly shocking,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Scott says that the Biden administration is quite literally paying up to $5 million a day to contractors to not build the border wall paid for under the Trump administration. Billions of dollars in material are just sitting unused in the desert, guarded by contractors getting paid not to build it.”
Scott’s claims are backed by the findings of a Senate Homeland Security subcommittee, which reveals that the Biden administration has spent about $2 billion (with a B) already to cancel border wall construction.
Martin continued, “The Department of Defense received $10 billion by the end of the Trump administration to build and improve our southern border fences. Biden executives have wasted 20% of that money to ensure any border security is stopped.
“Rodney Scott served our nation and two administrations faithfully (and successfully), but Joe Biden forced him to resign or retire. Scott now tells us that during the transition between administrations, it was made crystal clear to Biden’s team that any rollback in enforcement policies from the Trump era would result in disaster at the border.
“Joe Biden and his marxist handlers are willfully allowing our border to be overrun. They’re even wasting millions of tax dollars a day to do it. It’s time to demand accountability.”
