So let’s look ahead and dive into the program today. Do we have good one! We got a couple of great guests coming up that Ed was able to prerecord with and I’m going to be back to close us out here at the end of the program, but let me dive into the all important very first very I already said important, it’s really important. Really important and something you need to pay attention to, the what you need to know the WYNK for today.
What you need to know is across the developed world birth rates are in a freefall. And what? What do we mean by that? Birth rates are in a freefall. Well.
Whether you look at South Korea or Italy or the United States, first world countries are dropping below replacement rates to keep their population afloat, keep the economy properly functioning. And I tell you what, this is a this is a big deal. This isn’t even really a left or right issue, this is. A humanity issue.
This is a how does this country stay afloat and stay a country and keep our economy afloat? That’s that’s what we’re talking about here is is. Birth rates across the world, particularly in first world countries.
Now let’s make a little distinction here before we move on, because this is something we’ve touched on, well. I say we’ve touched on, we’ve touched on it a little bit, but John and Andy Schlafly have touched on it. You’ve probably heard their column on this. They’ve got a couple. I know John is on with us every week, but we’re going to tie this together. Because Elon Musk has jumped into the conversation and several people have.
But first, let let me make one quick distinction moving in one quick. Update of definitions for you. And no, I don’t mean update is in, you know updating it to be more woke that that’s of course not what I mean, but clarifying I hear 2 phrases thrown around quite a bit. Let me clarify them for you real quick on this program and then we will dive into the consequences behind it.
But birth rate and fertility rate, I hear these two things a lot. And and I hear them used interchangeably. So I’m you may wonder as I did so I looked it up for you. That’s what you’re here. You’re here to learn what you need to know. Not what we’re guessing. We looked this up. But birth rate versus fertility rate, what does that mean?
Well, a birth rate and the fertility rate are kind of related, but they’re two different sides of the same coin. Maybe you could say it that way. I don’t know if that’s the right analogy. Someone can correct me. I’m sure they will. But the birth rate refers to the number of births per 1000 individuals. So the number of live births per 1000 individuals in a given population in a given year. This includes both men and women. This is usually measured annually, but this is the birth rate that informs us basically the the, like a replication rate. How many? Well, how many births are happening in every 1000?
Now, the fertility rate is this. Referring to the average number of children that a woman will have in her would have in her lifetime. Given you know age specific things and different so birth rate is births per 1000 individuals, fertility rate is children per woman.
This is a very interesting conversation and I keep hearing those two phrases used alternately. They are not the same, but they’re close. So knowing that let’s let’s dive into our topic at hand. Here today.
As birth rates are in a free fall, looking at South Korea and Italy and the United States, the replacement rate is that rate that you you are as it sounds like, replacing yourself. Now the average is 2.1 technically 2.1 is the average for growth, the average needed for growth and
2.1 children, how would you do that, you say? Well, it’s an average. That’s the. That’s the point. We’re not talking about having 2.1 children, but if a couple man and a woman has. Two children that replaces them directly. That is a 2.0 replacement rate, right? So in the world of averages, a 2.1 replacement rate is needed for growth in general, not a sharp growth, just growth.
Well, you’ll see as we turn to country after country. After country, the rates are dropping down into the ones down into the low ones below 1.5. This is a sign of a population in decline. This is the sign of a population that is shrinking, not growing. More people are dying than are being born. We are not even replacing ourselves, let alone growing.
Now this leads into a host of different conversations, but Elon Musk has been on this and it’s kind of brought a lot. Anytime Elon tweets about something or posts about something on X off to the races we go and now we are in the midst of big conversations and topics about it. So thank you to Elon Musk for talking about important issues and just putting his perspective out there. Every once in a while. It certainly causes a lot of other conversation to happen around it, even though he’s not a policymaker, it definitely guides the conversation, and that’s definitely a good Thing, but on this there is a very very unique way to look at it.
One phrase you may have heard, and that’s what we’re gonna kind of camp out up on here today, ’cause I mean the birth rate decline and well maybe before we get there let me say, the birth rate decline is really a pretty important issue and that’s John And Andy Schlafly had a good column on this. You should go look at we’ll probably. Link that link that one here in this WYNK. Links of the WYNK.
But as you look at it, Italy and South Korea, we are decreasing by rapid numbers. I mean, Italy reported it’s dropped to its lowest recorded birth rate ever, a 34.2% drop since 2008. That’s crazy. There were nearly twice as many deaths as births in Italy last year. What happens? What happens to your economy? What happens to your country, which is the point that Elon Musk is bringing up. Looking at the birth rates is depressing. He says one can’t depend on other countries for immigration. Italy is the people of Italy. Please make more Italians.
But guess what? That is exactly the point that’s being made. The birth rates falling below is definitely an economic and a social factor to look at. But here’s here’s where a key term comes in and I want to tie this in. Because there’s more to it, and we’ll point you to the article from John and Andy.
But this is where you start hearing the phrase, the great replacement, the the great replacement theory and that, in that what they mean by that is that basically Americans are being replaced in America by immigrants. The left is shipping in immigrants. Faster than by, illegal immigrants, low wage legal migrant workers, you name it. Whatever the phrasing is, we are shipping in people here.
And first of all, many of them. The spoken version of why they support this is because, well, we just we have low birth rates in America and we need our to keep pumping fuel into our economy. So here’s new people to pump into the economy, look and see how great it is, isn’t it great? Yeah, well. Hold on about that for a moment. Hold on about that for a Moment.
First of all. You can’t just Willy nilly pump people into a culture that is vastly different than their culture. There’s this thing called assimilation that’s incredibly important, but also
second of all, what you’re doing by this, dear leftists, is you are pumping in a brand new voting bloc. This voting bloc that’s going to vote for you because it’s the left that’s bringing them across. Ignoring the rule of law, handing out the goodies and creating an incentive structure for them when they’re here.
They are pipelining in left wing voters. That’s exactly what’s happening. Phyllis Schlafly pointed this out all the way back to a white paper that she did about how a conservative Republican Party is doomed if we continue to allow this massive, massive influx of illegal immigrants and of legal immigrants. And we’re handing over drivers licenses and voting cards, voting registrations like it is nobody’s business. No way, Jose. This is a this is bad news. I tell you what.
These two things go together. The issues about, you know, worrying about the birth rates in America and seeing the decline of the family, the decline of having children, the decline of our people and our economy and also shipping in these folks because supposedly we need good jobs, you and I know the unspoken part, dear listener, that the left just wants more voters. John and Andy Schlafly point this out great and this is the message that we need to be looking at a pro birth message, increasing the birth rates.
This fits great with the Republican Party platform point of creating good jobs for Americans. Let’s create good jobs for Americans and let’s create some more Americans for good jobs.
And this is absolutely a winning combination. So there is a huge a huge, a huge set of considerations and we could go on and on, in fact, join us on Unauthorized Caucus this week. We’re gonna dive into this because there are social and historical implications that that are just unfolding from this like nobody’s business. But that’s what you need to know. Across the first world. The developed world’s birth rates are in a free fall and it is a huge deal for a bunch of nations.
We’ll be right back. We’ve got a couple of great guests here on the Pro America Report. Don’t go away. We’ll be back after the break.
