The following is a transcript from the Pro America Report.
Welcome, welcome, welcome. Ed Martin here on The ProAmerica Report.
And it is time. We’ve got some great guests coming up, and we’ve got time to get pro America. I have a bad news on that front here, but I will explain that to you in a couple of minutes.
We’ll talk with John Schlafly, who will address the liberal world order.
The liberal world order. The liberal world order is the effort by Joe Biden and the modern Democrat party and then establishment Republicans, all sorts of people, to rebrand America as America last. And then we’ll serve the world first. The liberal world order used to be called the new world order under George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton shifted a little bit.
We’ll also talk with my friend Joe Johnston, the great lawyer and author of the book The Decline of Nations. And we’ll talk about what he sees going on and a lot more.
But first, what you need to know. If you go over to proamericaeport.com you can sign up for the daily email that I send out. It’s called the daily WYNK. It goes into your inbox at 08:00, a.m. East coast time, 05:00, a.m. Pacific time. So sign up there.
All right, what you need to know today is this. Joe Biden and his administration, it took them a while. They can’t do everything at once, because you’d see it all, you might notice it all. They have to keep slipping things in. So it’s the dog days of summer. Most of D.C. Is gone away.
The media is gone. The swamp isn’t drained, but it’s empty of the swamp. The beasts of the swamp go off to the shore, into the lakes and other places because it’s hot and the congress is out of session.
They’re home, the incumbents are home, campaigning and using their positions of authority and power to raise money to beat everyone.
So in the midst of all this, you have to watch very closely. And if you look closely, you can see the Biden administration floating one of their priorities to see what kind of reaction they get. So if we can do our job, let’s try to drive some attention to the details here.
Over in Politico, there’s a very light story written kind of breezily, that the Biden administration is considering getting rid of the tariffs against China.
Well, you say, wait, why would they do that? The communist Chinese regime, as we talked about earlier this week, they gave us the Wuhan virus. They lied to us about it. They lied to us about the timing of things. They cheat on intellectual property. They cheat on environmental regulations. They cheat, cheat, cheat.
And we don’t cheat. And we get beat, beat, beat by the Chinese.
They have TikTok which is destroying our communities and our young people, et cetera, et cetera.
Well, Joe Biden and remember Donald Trump said, we’re going to slap tariffs on these people because at the very least, if they’re going to cheat, cheat, cheat, we should make them pay for it. And that’s effectively what tariffs are.
Tariffs are a penalty for cheating. And we were told by everybody under the sun, if you cannot, you cannot do tariffs. It will act as a tax, it will bepassed on to the people, it will slash, it will tank the economy, et cetera, et cetera.
And what did Donald Trump do? He slapped tariffs, strong tariffs. We’re talking hundreds of billions of dollars a year tariffs on the Chinese and their goods.
And what happened?
Nothing. Nothing happened except it made it more difficult and made the cost higher for the Chinese goods, and therefore American goods were more competitive. That’s the point of tariffs, to level the playing field.
Because if you’re in China and you’re cheat, cheat, cheating, you’re subsidized by the Communist government, you’re notobeying environmental rules and not obeying labor rules, all those kinds of things, and you come over and sell a widget for a dollar.
And here in America, I have to work hard and make the widget for a dollar ten.
I’m at a disadvantage. If you have to pay the real price of your widget and don’t cheat, cheat, cheat, you’re competitive and you have to pay one ten. Whatever, you get the point.
So a tariff says, if you’re going to make your widget by cheating, we’re going to make you pay a tariff that will even it out so we can compete. And it worked. It works. It always works.
Well, the Biden administration has decided, they’re floating this. They’re getting ready to get rid of tariffs against the Chinese. Why?
Well, the excuse they’re giving is that they think maybe it could possibly, maybe, sort of, could have maybe partially, I don’t know, could, by the way, the recording is not failing, I’m just messing around. But they’re saying maybe, possibly relieving tariffs on goods will make it cheaper for Americans and that will affect inflation.
Nonsense. Nonsense. Well, it’s complete nonsense.
Maybe it would work if they got rid of every tariff, but they’re not going to do that, I don’t think. Even then, it wouldn’t work.
But here’s the trick they’re doing.
So they’re floating this, and the first $10 billion of the tariff that they’re going to relieve of the Chinese is on bicycles.
So think of the irony. You’re going to get your bike, you’re going to be able to buy a bike cheaper than you would now. You’re going to be able to buy your bike. This is really, truly what theBiden administration is telling the media. We’re going to lower tariffs on Chinese made bicycles so you can buy your bike cheaper.
And of course you’re going to have to buy a bike because you can’t afford to run your car. You can’t afford to run your boat. You can’t afford to run your motorcycle. You can’t afford to run anything.
You can pedal, though. You get your bicycle, you can pedal.
Imagine, it sounds like a Saturday Night Live skit.
We gather around the Oval Office. Joe Biden says, what can we do about inflation? I got the idea, boss, I got the idea. Let’s relax tariffs against the Chinese. And Biden says, Wait a second, aren’t we reading in the polling that people hate China and they’re worried about the Communist regime and they don’t want to give in to China? And shouldn’t we be tough on China? Yeah, boss, but we’ll just say we’re being tough on them on other stuff. But here’s the idea.
We’ll relieve the tariff on bikes. Oh, that’s good. We like bikes. And President Biden says, I rode my bike last week. Everybody covered. I fell on it. But I think it turned out pretty good because most people said, wow, he’s almost 80 years old, he’s riding a bike, and what the heck, he looks pretty healthy. Oh, yeah, bikes. Let’s do that. That’s how we will relieve inflation on the American people who can’t afford $7 gas. And the price of milk has gone up twice, double, double up, get a gallon of milk, et cetera. I went to get a windshield replaced on my car and the woman told me, look, the price of glass has gone up about 100% in the last year.
So here’s where we are.
We’re being told by the president of the United States, we’re being told by the president of the United States, just, hey, sorry, just go ahead and ride your bike. We’re going to give the Chinese more money. We’re going to give the Chinese continued access through TikTok and everything else, but we’re going to ask you, part of the liberal world order as long as it takes. Joe Biden said, we’ll continue to subsidize the liberal world order.
And you know what?
As long as it takes, the American people will suffer, but they can ride their bikes, and they could buy their bikes a little cheaper and the Chinese will make a little bit more money, but we’ll have a little less inflation because the bike sales will go down. That’s what they’re floating.
And what they’re really doing, I can tell you in a political article in early July, in the hot dog days in the summer, nobody’s here. They’re testing it. They’re testing to see the reaction.
What is the reaction of the people and the politicians to relaxing the tariffs on Chinese goods? And the multinational corporations want this, Walmart. Everybody wants it. I’m sure they all want it because they want cheaper goods, because they want people to buy more stuff still. So they’re probably all for it. The politicians are probably all for it. But this is a test balloon that’s being floated to see what the reaction is among the American people.
If you have the will and are inclined, I ask you to object, to object immediately. Object to your elected official, object to your politician, object to your friends and family. We do not need to give the Chinese a break and drive more bikes because Joe Biden can’t figure out how to get rid of inflation.
You want to get rid of inflation? There’s lots of ways. Stop spending and printing money is the biggest one, but the second biggest is, do everything you can to lower our energy costs and make it so people can afford to ship something. You lower the cost of gas, diesel, regular gas. People can ship stuff across the country. People can move things, buy things, travel, et cetera. Don’t make us ride our Chinese bikes, Joe Biden.
What a joke. What a joke. All right, we’ll take a break.
We come back, we’ll talk with John Schlafly about the Schlafly Report, the weekly column and the Liberal World Order and a lot more after that. Ed Martin, here on the Pro America Report, we’ll be back in a moment.
