The following is a transcript from the Pro America Report.
Welcome, welcome, welcome. Ed Martin here on the Pro America Report. Great to be together again. Two great guests coming up today.
I’ve been looking forward to speaking with the journalist and author, and his name is Ken Timmerman, and he has written a book about his life in journalism. It is a memoir and but it’s kind of a what the conservative liberal to conservative movement, a book that is about a growing up book is called a bildungsroman. You may have heard that term. It’s a classic term in literature, but it’s a coming of age kind of book. That’s what it’s meant to be. There should be a title for a book that’s like a coming of smarts, you know, a book where people grow from being liberal to being conservative. And Ken Timmerman’s book is really good on this. It’s really interesting.
And then we’ll also talk with a Navy Seal, retired Navy Seal, Jonathan Gilliam, and he’s got a book, excuse me, it’s been out a few years, and it’s actually out on paperback. And it’s about sort of how to get your mindset right on a world where attack is possible, sort of survival, but also personal defense kind of thing. So he’s a very cool guy. He fills in on Hannity. You’ve seen him on Fox News, I bet. He also, I noticed, was filling in for Seb Gorka recently. So he is a very good dude. We’ll talk with him.
But first, what you need to know.
Are you watching as the media is adjusting to the polls, as I told you months ago and predicted, it’s a red wave.
I only realized it was a red tsunami a few weeks ago, but I’ve been saying that, you’re now seeing that, but you’re watching the polls adjust their coverage, and especially adjust their coverage when it comes to things like issues that they thought would work and didn’t work.
So I think it was on, I don’t know, maybe Tuesday on The Five, Dana Perino made a comment. She said they spent almost $100 million, the Democrats and the liberals did, on abortion ads, ads that sort of make abortion the central issue. But the problem is none of them can explain their position because the left’s position on abortion is have an abortion right up to nine months pregnancy, and nobody wants that in America.
So they had this situation where they tried to make it the number one issue and it didn’t work, and they’re sort of realizing it didn’t work.
One of the examples, by the way, that is really evil is the example of the coverage of the situation in Georgia. Herschel Walker was accused of having had a girlfriend who I think it’s known did have an abortion.
She actually had an abortion when she was younger, and he’s accused of paying for it, which he flatly denied. He said that wasn’t something that happened. I didn’t do that. Now, he didn’t deny that he had a relationship with the woman, and I don’t think he’s denied that. Maybe that was his baby. I don’t know. He was a young man.
It’s all sordid and sad, but the idea that the coverage would say he paid for an abortion – and here’s what 538, the big polling company, they wrote a lengthy tweet about how the polling it’s a surprise to them that Herschel Walker didn’t lose lots of ground in his race against Reverend Warnock, the sitting senator and one of the tweets reads this: two weeks ago, the world learned that Herschel Walker, a Republican who supports an abortion ban without exceptions, had paid for his pregnant then girlfriend to get an abortion. Walker denies this.
Now, that’s not been litigated in such a way that’s not been proven in such a way that it can be said that the world learned that fact.
What the world learned was the Democrats attacked Herschel Walker and said, oh, there was, a woman had an abortion, and he might have paid for it. They didn’t prove it. He didn’t admit it.
He denied it. And but the coverage, if you notice the framing, is, this happened. Oh, but he denied it, as if he’s denying what’s true.
In other words, you get the double dip if you’re a lefty, if you’re a Democrat. In this case, Herschel Walker not only is tied to having paid for abortion, he’s now made to look like a liar. And neither one is factually true. Neither one is proven. And so, I mean, just evil stuff. But here’s the problem.
They can’t figure out why it’s not working. They can’t figure out why it’s not working.
What you need to know is there is a problem the Democrats have fallen victim to that is extraordinary. And it’s why, as I’ve told you, it’s ’94. It’s the ’94 election, and not 1994, it’s 1894. In 1894 after the collapse of the economy under Grover Cleveland, the Democrat president, there was a landslide in 1894, so much so that the Republicans gained a net of 110 seats because they blamed, the people blamed the economy crash on the Democrat in power and the Democrats in power in Congress. That’s what’s happening here. The Democrats and the pollsters keep trying to say, well, it must be something else. It’s got to be something else.
They even stooped to saying the election might be stolen, it might be manipulated. They’ve actually said that. But here’s what they’re missing.
The economy is so rotten, the direction of the country is so bad right now. And look, let me say it clearly. We’re not starving and we’re not cold in America yet. I don’t think we’ll ever be starving, but we might be cold, energy costs keep going up. Other parts of the world have it worse.
But people feel in this country like the basics are off, and then they look up and see the president as such a strange and stumbling character saying things that are weird, calling Americans a clear and present danger, talking about Armageddon, saying that the economy is fine. Oh, I know he was. No, I’m sorry. Well, he did say something like that, but he said he did nothing. His administration did nothing to reduce the oil and gas drilling. The oil drilling, I guess it was. This is crazy. Of course they did.
And the public is looking up, and here’s the weird thing. The public is looking up, and they’re seeing that the game, that the country is off balance and that the system isn’t working, and the Democrats are in charge. And then the business model of the people in charge the business model of the people in charge of media and big tech is that they have to have clicks and they have to get hysteria.
And so they race around and they get hysterical things, and therefore, people are feeling like things are off base. And so you get a situation like the state delegate in Virginia, a woman who gave the State of the Union response to Donald Trump. She’s a state delegate, Hispanic American, and she said out loud, we should create a felony and charge parents who do not honor their minor children’s request for gender identity.
And the American public went, no way. The American public is looking up and saying on these hot button issues that the media and big tech can’t resist covering.
They just can’t stand it. The American people can’t stand it.
It’s the same thing with the war. I don’t know whether they think somehow the American people are going to rally around big government spending on the Ukrainian military and say, oh, yeah, this is really important. They’re not. I don’t want anybody to die. I don’t want anybody to have war, but I’m not going to celebrate massive American spending on military build up for Ukraine. And the idea that the Democrats keep returning somehow to that issue as one that will motivate voters is just crazy.
And remember, all this backdrop is happening after a 2020 election. And this is what Donald Trump did in his memo last week. What you need to know, go read the memo, 14 page memo from last week when the select committee that’s another one. The Democrats thought we’ll just yell January 6 over and over again, and the American people will agree. The American people mostly said, what are you talking about? What are you talking about? You’re the same people that were supporting Black Lives Matter, which has been shown to be a fundraising scam, and what are you doing? But you read Donald Trump’s 14 page memo, and in the memo, what he says basically is in every part of the country where the country was not under the Democrats assault for mail-in ballots and mules and everything, the American people chose Trump’s direction by huge numbers. That’s what his memo shows in the five or six places where the Democrats spent a gazillion dollars and used all these COVID emergencies to make things their way, it looks like, so it looks like in a traditional African American city, in precincts in, say, Chicago, in African American neighborhoods, Biden didn’t do better than Obama, no way.
But in Philadelphia he did. In Fulton County. In Atlanta, he did. And the reason is that either they cheated or at least, at least you can say the Democrats were targeting those areas.
But Trump’s point is the country’s already rejected the leftist policies of the woke and they hate this stuff. But now they’ve seen what happens when the Democrat policies are in power and the people are truly suffering under the cost of gasoline, under the cost of inflation and food. It’s extraordinary.
And so what you need to know is the media and the Democrats don’t know what to do. They’re already starting to create a circular firing squad to blame people.
Barack Obama went on some podcasts and said some portions of the Democrat Party are too extreme and not forgiving and too woke. And we’ll see.
But the pollsters are going to keep moving this way. And I have to tell you, if you know anything about running for office, if you’ve ever been a candidate, there’s a point in the election where it really doesn’t matter what you do, you’re not going to change the sort of trajectory of the election. You can only add turnout. You can only run your game plan and make sure your people vote, but you’re stuck with what you’ve got. In 2010, I was on the ballot as a congressional candidate. It was a great election. Every day was better. It felt like if the election went a few more weeks, I would have won. I lost by 2000 votes. In 2012, I was a nominee for Republican Attorney General in Missouri. It didn’t matter what we did. Obama was on the top of the ticket. Romney was falling to bits and we were just down, down, down.
So right now, the Democrats wish the election was tomorrow because every day that goes past goes on, there’s more and more, I think, people that are looking up saying it’s worse and worse direction. So let’s take a break.
