The following is a transcript from the Pro America Report.
Welcome. Welcome, welcome! It’s Ed Martin here on the Pro America Report. Good to be together. What a day. What a day these days are quite amazing. Quite stunning really to watch. What’s happening over on Tucker Carlson show and what exactly it means in terms of the future and what people believe about what’s going on. So we’ll get to all that.
And we’ll also talk with Mike Davis. Mike Davis, of course, the Supreme Court clerking ah lawyer who’s worked in the both the, all three branches actually worked for. He clerked for Justice Gorsuch. He practiced the law as a lawyer in the Bush White House, and he also was up on Capitol Hill as the chief counsel to Senator Grassley and the Judiciary Committee. So we’ll talk with him because there is an aspect of what we’ve seen in the in the videos on Tucker Carlson show that makes you wonder if the people who’ve already pled guilty or been convicted have a reason to complain and maybe shift their plea or shift their the judgment on them. And now Mike Davis will tell you about that. I think so too. I mean the one that’s most obvious is the couple of the. QAnon Shaman, that guy that was painted in half naked with horns on his head, probably mentally ill. I’ve always wondered why he wasn’t able to get some coverage I mean for being mentally ill, but but he he got he pled guilty to some kind of crime and he is doing almost four years in prison, I think 41 months maybe. And I guess that’s a little, that’s three and. 1/2 years but. He he is shown in the video that Tucker Carlson showed the other night being escorted by the police being helped by the police. And if you didn’t have that video to show as part of his defense, then the prosecution really treated him unfairly and probably broke the Supreme Court precedent. The law is Brady the Brady case, so we’ll see. We’ll talk with Mike Davis.
We’ll also have a visit. I’ve been looking forward to this. It’s been scheduled for a couple of weeks. Uh, the uh author Curtis Ellis, who I never had the privilege of meeting, but who I read. I read his work and has now published a book called Pandemonium about the threat of China. He’s kind of a, I think he describes himself or did he’s he passed away, the late Curtis Ellis describes himself as an economic pop nationalist. And his wife, Maxine Albert, will come on and talk about the book that he has written that has been published posthumously. So we’ll talk with her about that.
But first, let’s get to January 6 and the videos to Tucker Carlson. I want to make two points. There’s two. What you need to know today. OK. The WYNK. One is about what we’ve seen so far and about what the videos show. The second is about the reaction. OK?
So it is no surprise. Let’s do the second one first. What you need to know is it’s no surprise that the Democrats went to the floor of the US Senate and the House complaining. And that and that they’re screaming and bloody murder. How can you do this? Tucker Carlson is being deceptive. All blah blah blah. What Tucker Carlson is doing, though, of course, is Tucker Carlson is actually addressing what’s going on. In the in this case, in terms of exactly what’s happening, he’s doing is what the Select Committee did, which is to say he’s picking and choosing what is shown. I I happen to think that he’s being more honest, but I’m not sure of that. You know what I mean?
My point here is that you can’t know for sure the reality that, of all he’s said, until we see all the video right? He may be taking it out of context. He might. He might be taking it out of context, but if he is, I I’m not sure we know yet. But he’s certainly directionally more on the side of people who think it was a way out of control. And I’ll talk about what he found in a moment.
So, but the reaction of the Democrats, predictable. The reaction of Liz Cheney, predictable. Wasn’t as predictable, but it will be when I explain it that the Republicans in the Senate are complaining. Now, why is that? Well, a number of them are complaining because they bought into the narrative that it was an insurrection, and they’ve told their friends and family that. And none, No senator wants to be contradicted, but much more likely. They want to get rid of Trump. They don’t want Trump to run. They think they’re better than Trump. Most of them think they’re the ones that are complaining, think they’re better than Trump and they don’t want To have Trump around, because if January 6 gets imploded as a fraud, especially the Select Committee, it helps Trump move past it. So alright now, but let me get to what you need to know in in general. More broadly, please.
What I believe there are three things that I believe Tucker Carlson has revealed.
One, that the January 6 committee lied. Now that’s just what I I just said that. I just said that I was just talking about that. When I say they lied, I mean, they selectively used the edits. They selectively used the facts. They selectively used the way things are position to make an infomercial, you know we’ve called it a show trial, but Americans aren’t used to the word show trial. The words show trial anymore. They because we haven’t had show trials. We haven’t had to watch the the we we haven’t had to watch the the reality of Soviet show trials, right. I I you know, so the reality is that the the show tri- the previous generation when you said show trials, they knew they’d seen the Soviets do show trials. They knew exactly what it meant. We don’t see that. Well, know infomercial and that’s what this was. Select Committee had an infomercial and Tucker Carlson has shown that they lied. They lied about what was going on by the use of the videos, use of select testimony.
The second thing that the the Tucker Carlson showed is that people were let in to the Capitol, they were escorted into the capitol. I mean the QAnon Shaman was had the doors held for him, but there’s other instances now we’ve seen in the video that they, they they the security is actually letting them in. Now that may have been part of a deescalation strategy, but the images are stark. And they weren’t shown to us before now.
So the two things, and then the last one. Which is maybe most emblematic by Epps. The the The first night of Tucker’s coverage, where the the Ray Epps coverage, the Ray Epps video, Ray Epps clearly lied to the Select Committee and was clearly involved in a way that’s way beyond like almost anyone else that was charged. That didn’t go in the building, right. There’re a whole bunch of People that are charged with crimes that didn’t go in the building. Some people went in the building. Well, that’s trespass, right? That it’s hard to understand how it’s trespass when people are escorting you in. You know, when the cops are letting you in, but still, at least you can make an argument you’re going into the wrong place. You shouldn’t have gone to. Ray Epps didn’t go in the building, but neither did it, about four or five or six or seven or more people that have been charged with crimes for being outside and appearing to orchestrate or leading the charge or being involved. Ray Epps, the video shows he was knee deep involved.
And it brings us to the question is, who was working, who was on the payroll, who was an informant of the federal government that day? How many were there? What were they doing? Were they a part of this? I’m not one of the people that thinks that there was dozens of FBI agents that were leading this as a way to trap Trump. But if there were dozens of paid informants and FBI agents who were participating in a way that’s beyond what they should have, we ought to know that. We ought to know that because we ought to have a ability again to say what really went on, and we can’t. We can’t.
So Tucker Carlson has done a huge service, but again, I join with the media from last week and now the Democrats and the moderate Republicans in, the Senators who are griping that Tucker has been unfairly biased in favor of January 6 being nothing bad at all. They’re complaining. Mitt Romney and others are saying, Oh no, it’s too much. It was really terrifying. It was really violent. You don’t. Tucker Carlson is being too light on that. I join in your criticism in the sense that there’s only one way to solve this. Release all the video tape. Release all the videotape, all 40. Now it’s up to 44,000 hours. You know for a while it was forty, 14,000 hours. That’s what Nancy Pelosi told us. Then it was 41,000 hours last week. Now it’s up to 44,000 hours. Whatever it is, release it all. At this point, there can be no, There can be no security protocol that has not been exposed and therefore must be reset. That you, you, you, we. They’re lying to you if they’re saying the capitol police, that they’re not gonna have brand new protocols. They’re probably gonna shut off some doors. They’re probably gonna change some hallways. They’re gonna have to. So make it all public now. Make it all public. It’s it’s sufficiently out there now. We all deserve to see it.
But what you need to know today Is that as to the January 6th events. We’re getting closer to the truth. If you’re one of the people like me who believes Tucker Carlson has done a good job of showing what’s really happened, then you’re happy. If you’re someone who thinks Tucker Carlson was biased, then you’re upset. I happen to think that Tucker Carlson is showing the truth and that the Select Committee was biased. If you’re in the group, I doubt you’re listening to my program, but that thinks that the Select Committee was not biased and Tucker Carlson was. We join ourselves and come together on the same page. Because what we now know is there’s doubt about what happened, and the answer is show the tapes. Give them availability to the entire public so we can make our decisions on what happened. That’s the most important thing we can do. I hope to See us do it.
