Todd Bensman, he’s becoming he’s become an extraordinary friend, someone I really admire. And now we’ve had him a couple times out at Eagle Council and he’s just phenomenal. He is, of course, over at the Center for Immigration Studies, senior national Security fellow there. He also has written two books, the second of which is out in the last six months called Overrun from Bombardier Books. It’s Overrun: How Joe Biden unleashed the greatest border crisis in U.S. history. It’s accelerating. It’s crazy. We’ll we’ll talk with him. But he brings me to what I want to talk about, by the way. Because over the last couple of years I’ve been doing this radio program, the Pro America Report, which turns into a podcast and is all different kinds of things, I’ve been doing it for almost six years and every day, and it’s really fun. And I love the interaction with people. But what I have discovered, what I have come to realize. Is in the last six years I have transitioned from a guy that wanted to give you my opinion and try to show you what my judgment was to actually a citizen journalist. I I do claim the mantle of being a a writer. I’ve written in my adult life since I was in my 20s. I have always had writing assignments, whether it was editorials for the local religious paper, whether it was books, letters I I’m a big fan of letters, letter writing, I I, you know, I I do. I I you know, I’ve I Count myself as a writer, but that’s different than being a journalist and and a citizen journalist.
I do not claim to be a professional journalist. I’m not paid to be a journalist. But I now say. A lot of the efforts, whether in my legal work, in my professional work as the head of the Phyllis Schlafly Eagles and in this program, the Pro America Report, I’m now a citizen journalist.
And frankly so must you be.
Meaning we cannot rely on the media and the press and the journalists, the professional journalists, to get to the bottom of things that matter. They’re just not reliable. Some do, by the way. I’m not saying they all don’t. I’m saying you can’t rely on.
And so you have to look up and say I’m going to get to the bottom of this and that’s a a citizen journalist move.
James O’Keefe is a classic example of a guy. I don’t know if he. I don’t know what he studied in college. I don’t know what his but his profession now and it’s O’Keefe Media Group, OMG which is so funny. OMG and he he’s Out there but. What is he out there doing? He’s basically out there saying I’m gonna get to the bottom of issues that I care about, that I see is important because no One else will.
And the biggest place that I’ve seen this laid bare is on the January 6th stuff because I have a a view into January 6th as someone who was there. I was in DC that day. I walked past the Capitol. I was late to the time when things were going on at the Capitol because I had been down at the ellipse hearing President Trump speak, and it took me a long time to get out of there. And the long story there. But anyway, I I had been actually been on the radio that morning. Early that morning, then I went to the ellipse. I was slow down anyway, so I was in town on January 6th.
And I was involved in a lot of the questioning of the 2020 election. I was saying, hey, what are we doing here? Now I wasn’t a lawyer on those matters. I wasn’t in the the teams that were filing cases, but I was talking about it on the this program. I was analyzing things. I was getting to the bottom of it. And then January 6 happened and we’re all told, Oh no, the people that January 6 are the insurrection and they their insurrection is based on the lies of the 2020 election. Therefore stop.
And everyone and then the lies about January 6th. It’s unbelievable. The pipe bomber that no one has found. The famous gallows that are the iconic images that are used to this day by the Democrats. Every time they have a hearing, even the Republicans have hearings. The Democrats trot out the image of the gallows with a Noose and and it and it just happens to have been set up. In such a way that the photograph it has the capitol inside the gallows with the noose. Wow. Now it could be that that was MAGA people. It could be that that was Democrats. It could be that it was part of the media industrial complex that wanted the images, but whether you’re talking about the fine people hoax in Charlottesville, the drinking bleach hoax. Where they say that, Trump said drink bleach, which is a lie, or the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax or the Ukraine impeachment hoax, there were Ukraine or the 2020 election. Whatever you pick. You realize, especially if you listen to this program, that our media, the professional journalists, are not doing their job. Period.
And if they are doing their job, they’re lying. They’re part of the narrative machine.
Witness the 51 intelligence professionals who signed a letter saying that and the letter was so cleverly written. You know, I’m a writer. I told you I like to write letters. Clever. If you read the letter out loud, it says we’re experts in intelligence stuff. We looked at all that’s going on and this stuff we’re seeing the the Biden laptop. It has all the markings of a Russian disinformation campaign. So they didn’t say it was a Russian disinformation campaign, and some of them defend themselves this day and they say, see, we didn’t say it, but here’s what happened. They published that. It’s big government, big government. That’s the tentacles of the deep state, big government. They published that letter. And then what happens?
Big media. Well, one outlet writes. What are you talking about? The Biden laptop, New York Post Biden laptop. That’s real. All the rest of them say ohh. They say it’s Russian disinformation. Ohh. They say these these Hotshots that we believe these guys were in charge of our whole country. They’re their intelligence professionals, 51 of them. That’s a lot. That’s a lot.
And then big Tech says, yeah, we’re on board. We’ll silence anybody that objects. That doesn’t sign on to that view, and you have an election impacted clearly by an effort, hand in glove, big government, big media working with the professional journalists.
So the system’s breaking down and we say OK, what do we do about it? And what we do about is we all have to become citizen journalists. We all have to become citizen journalists now and that and that’s our reality. And I’m I’m joining that I’m more importantly I’m identifying that that’s what I’m doing. I’m not just giving you my opinion, anymore because I can’t afford just to tell you what my opinion is and what my judgment says.
I actually have to tell you what I have found and what I can find. And here’s the key thing. Because I’m a journalist, citizen journalist, I have to help you get me the truth. And so my call to you is join the Army of Citizen journalists and send me your tips. Tell me what you’ve got, what you see, how it’s going. And let’s see what we can find and shine the light on, because you’re gonna wait a long time. A really long time, probably forever, to get the mainstream media, the professional journalists, to cover the stuff that you see as important that you see in your community, that you understand and you have to trust your Belief system, your values to tell you what’s important. It doesn’t mean that if you say to me, hey, Ed, I got this great tip. This such as this happening, it may, it may not mean that it’s a national story, but it means that you’re right. You’re right. Hey, I gotta get to the bottom of it. I want accountability on my local sheriff. My school board. I want accountability on my elected official. Why?
You know why are we not? You know what? You know what’s missing in the coverage? The the professional journalist coverage? What’s missing of the professional journalist coverage of, for example, Senator Menendez having gold bars in his home and and. And let me be clear. He’s innocent until proven guilty of course. But. And and I don’t believe anything anybody tells me when they say all that stuff is true. Except he’s now said. Ohh. The gold bars and the money. That was my own stuff. It was. I was saving it there. I don’t trust banks or whatever. So now he’s admitted that he had it. And you know what’s missing? Professional journalists. What are the people in New Jersey say? What do the people there say? What do the voters say? What? You know what? What’s going on in the ground? What do people? There’s gotta be ways it can’t.
It cannot be that the only controller of what is news is the government, because that’s what it looks like for the professional journalists. They take whatever pronouncement. In fact, it’s so transparent. Remember Remember a few weeks ago when Merrick Garland was about to testify in front of Congress and and you thought to yourself, well, if you’re watching it, you thought he’s about to testify tomorrow, that’s gonna be a big deal. And they’re gonna have to cover that cause he’s the attorney general. He’s gonna be asked hard questions by Republicans. They’re gonna have to cover that. And you know what? The professional journalists did? They were fed. The one count misdemeanor indictment of Ray Epps the day before, or maybe the morning of, and they ran with it as big news. In other words, they ran interference. The professional journalists are running interference on the truth on the true stories. If they can’t actually be a part of the lies. They’ll be able to do so and and, you know, where’s the story that says we were able to ask the the DOJ and we forced them to give us an answer. We kept asking until they gave us an answer. The question why the timing? Why the timing now, you now? What are you doing with the timing? Why is this not? And because it sure looks like it’s politicized, but no professional journalists are asking. They’re just not asking. So we are all citizen journalists. And if you watched Elon Musk, he went down to the border late this week. He went down there, took pictures, he said. This is something that’s crazy that’s going on. He’s highlighting it. But he also said on his feed on on X and he said it multiple times. And what did he say? He said, hey, citizen journalists, this is a place for you. X and you should post here more because it is going to be a place that you can get some. You can get coverage. We won’t throttle your back and all the rest. Here’s an exact quote. Please encourage more citizen journalists. This is Elon Musk Twitter X feed you can do live video easily from your phone. More on the ground reporting. From regular citizens will change the world. Sounds right to me. Sounds totally right to me. We’re all citizen journalists, and that’s why what you need to know. It’s the Pro America Report is here for you.
