Washington, D.C.: “While voters direct their ire on the goings-on in Congress, we must be mindful of the left’s ongoing bid to permeate local elected offices,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “At this point, it’s abundantly clear that so-called progressives have school boards. They’re not only suffocating our children with radical, anti-American gender and racial ideologies, but they’re squelching the voices of concerned parents. It should come then as no surprise that the left, financed by George Soros, has successfully navigated 75 radical progressive district attorneys into cities across the U.S.
A new report from Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund reveals that Soros has funneled around $40 billion dollars over the last decade to elect these dozens of leftist prosecutors in the most populous cities in our nation. The report shows that Soros-funded prosecutors now represent one-fifth of all Americans, holding office in half of the top 50 most populated cities and counties.
“What are these bought-and-paid-for district attorneys doing with their public responsibilities, you ask?” Martin continued. “One thing they aren’t doing is upholding the law. They have brought a wave of ‘social justice’ and criminal justice ‘reforms’ that loosen the laws and punishment. The result is that these 75 prosecutors are now responsible for about 40% of the criminal activity in America.
“Not only is the crime wave sweeping America a calculated move by leftist politicians and financiers, it’s a very dire warning that We the Voters cannot forsake local election diligence while we’re distracted by flashy federal level campaigns and policies. We absolutely must do our due diligence from top to bottom, fulfilling our electoral responsibility down to even the seemingly mundane city and county level offices. These offices are incredibly important to our daily lives, as those who now suffer the crime waves of big cities can confirm. It’s time for us to build a resurgence of the understanding that local issues drive the national conversation. Take action at your local level and restore local offices!”
