Welcome everybody. It’s Ed Martin here on the Pro America Report. Great to be together as always, it’s been an eventful few weeks. Lots of travel for me.
Lots happening across the country, a lot of places. It’s really, really hot. So I hope you’re if you’re in a hot place, I hope it’s not so bad and I hope to get some rain and all.
But well, I’ve got a lot of reports, a lot of reporting to do on what happened in Milwaukee, what’s happening in the swamp. We just have a lot to cover here on the Pro America Report. A lot happened. Phyllis was, of course, an iconic leader of the conservative movement for decades and decades, and she’s, we’ve posted a lot of her columns and writings there, pretty extraordinary.
In a few moments we will talk about the Platform, the 2024 platform of the Republican Party, how that came about, what was in it, what the process was and a lot more. It’s an extraordinary document.
I think it will be a document that will mark a pivot in history and we’ll talk more about that, especially by the way how it was made, you know. How the document was created, how it came about. Because only one outlet, the New York Times, wrote up a story. I love when this happens. They wrote a story up about the platform, about how it was created. They wrote it authoritatively, definitively, as if they knew and almost everything about it was half truth. And if you tell half the truth without the other half, you’re basically lying, and so I’ll explain how that, all that happened. It’s a pretty interesting story and there’s a lot behind it. I look forward to that. Alright.
But first, where are we in this country right now? What is it that’s happening in this country? You know what’s going on. We have Joe Biden emerging from supposedly his COVID illness. It looks like he had some other health issues. You know, when you’re 81 years old, if you get a bad case of the flu, if you get a bad virus of any kind, if you get a a bad cold, a sinus infection, and if you get COVID even. You might find that you have real real health trouble. You know, one of the things about COVID that people don’t maybe remember is for people who are were comorbidities, they called it, right, that you had a another issue that would contribute to having the bad COVID cold. You might get really sick. So if you were diabetic or if you were asthmatic. And you’ve got COVID. Sometimes you would get really, really sick.
One comorbidity is being older. Your body is is not as strong. Your system is not as strong. So Joe Biden may very well be facing a a number of different health problems that we haven’t heard about because we’re being lied to all the time.
I mentioned earlier half truths when. When they tell you half truth over and over again at a certain point, you know you just being lied to because you can’t get to the other half. So where are we?
Well, look, what I think is being missed and very important for people to understand is that Joe Biden was pushed out
not because he got tired of running for president.
Not because he and his family realized that there was gonna be a problem, that he wasn’t succeeding, that he was losing every single day he was losing support in battleground states.
Especially that’s not any of the reasons that happened.
What happened was the rest of the political class decided that it was time for him to go.
You see, politicians, elected officials, generally care about only two things, votes and money. Usually money is used to get the votes and votes are. If you get the votes you’re in office, you have access to the money. Those are the two things you’ll you’ll meet people in office.
Rand Paul, I can think of one. You know Ted Cruz on some conservative issues. A lot of a lot of Members that you like, you may say, well, they care about principles too.
But at the end of the day, they have to get elected and reelected at the end of the day, they have to see things through that prism through that filter, so the elected official filter is money and votes every single day.
Joe Biden, as the top of the ticket, was costing money and votes for those people who are trying to run for reelection. Go to a battleground state. Ask a governor candidate. Go to a battleground state, a battleground Congressional District. Ask the house. Go to Pennsylvania, go to West Virginia’s, off the table, go to Pennsylvania, go to Arizona, go to Nevada and ask a U.S. Senate candidate in each of those states. How’s it going? And they’ll say Joe Biden on the top of the ticket is costing me votes, and it’s costing me money. People won’t support my campaign. People don’t think I can win. And they’re not voting for me.
So what happened? At a certain point about a week, maybe 10 days ago, was that the powers that be came together and said, hey, Democrats, the Democrat powers that be said, you’re costing us the election in different states. You’re costing us votes and money, and they went and they forced them out and they did it in the old fashioned way. They did it. Repeated leaks. They did it by, you know, George Clooney went first and then others came along over and over again. Drip, drip, drip. And as the coverage said in the last days before Biden decided to not run for election Pelosi delivered a message that said it’s been kind of difficult. It’s a little bit hard now, but it’s about to get much harder if you don’t get out of the way. And so Joe Biden did.
Here’s the wrinkle that nobody understands. What I think they needed to do, but they couldn’t do was skip over Kamala Harris because Kamala Harris gets you all of the Biden policies. It’s you, all of the Biden presidency. It’s you. All of the lies and failure, and the weaponized DOJ and incompetence at the at the Secret Service. Incompetence at the border, incompetence at the departments. All those bona, all that Biden baggage stays with Kamala Harris.
And she’s really, really not likable. Now I don’t mean that as an insult. I mean that as a proven fact when she went to run for President and she went out to talk to the people when she went out and went hand to hand and and. State by state, New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina. She just bombed. She was not good enough. I don’t know why she wasn’t good enough when she was campaigning in California. I never heard her described as bad as she was in her run for president. But she was terrible. She was out first. She got zero votes. I think she got. Zero. And so when she Was Picked to be the VP, people said why? And a lot of people said it’s a diversity hire. A lot of people said Joe Biden had a personal relationship, a friendship with her because she was close to Beau Biden, the late Beau Biden, Joe Biden’s son, was the Attorney General of Delaware. And so supposedly they had something of a friendship they did litigation together I. You know, but she was picked. Nobody thought that she was going to bring any campaigning asset. They didn’t need that. They needed somebody that had been vetted at the top level, had run for president at the top level, that they had gone through all the background on and that they could go put up there.
And if you recall Kamala Harris in the US Senate was pretty good. I mean, I didn’t agree with the politics. But she was pretty capable at doing some of the the the back and forth and rough and tumble of the investigations and hearings of the Senate committees that she was on, including judiciary. So she was somewhat well known for, you know, being on top of That game, but she has been in office. A terrible, terrible failure.
So she’s actually a worse candidate than Joe Biden. Which brings us to the Moment we’re in.
Donald Trump had a flawless convention. We’ll talk about in a few moments, a convention that had all of the optics and reality of positive messaging. Now most conventions In the modern era are not actually conventions where you’re doing much. They’re made for television. Now, it’s not just TV. They’re made for video. They’re they’re shows. They’re they’re they’re they’re spectacular shows with, you know, speakers and video and all this kind of stuff. But you still got to put it together. You still got to gather thousands of people. You gotta run a stage. You gotta have this production. And Trump did it resoundingly.
So he comes out of the Convention, the show, the spectacular, the convention, ready for a bump. Plus he comes out of the assassination attempt getting a bump. So the guy is on a roll in every way you can conceivably be on a roll as a political candidate. There’s never been any set of facts going the right way, your own opponent Stumbling and you are ascending, you’re just hitting all on all cylinders. Everything’s going right. The issue matrix that Donald Trump is talking about for the forgotten man, for the forgotten woman, and we’ll talk in a few moments about the platform that specifically identifies that group.
Those people, you pick JD Vance, who’s the classic American story even more than Trump. Trump came from a father who was pretty successful in his own family. JD Vance came from nothing and built it but worked his way up. Ohio State University. Then Yale Law School joined the military, joined the Marines. All this kind of stuff. So Trump’s got all this momentum.
Biden is flailing. And Failing and he finally quits and the Democrats picked a worse candidate. And so as you’re listening to this, the polling is coming in. They they’re, they’ve gone out going head to head, looking at the polling of Trump versus Kamala Harris. And she’s worse than Trump. The media is probably gonna lie to you a little bit, and they’re gonna say, oh, no, she’s actually, people are taking a look at her. They’re gonna see that. And they might be right. She might get a bump from her own convention if they can pull it off in three weeks. But for now. You’ve watched the Democrat party in the midst, as I’ve said for years now, in the midst of their own civil war, the civil war pits the powerful in the Democrat Party against groups like people who happen to support Israel, people who happen to want school choice and control, their families. People happen to want to be pro-life. All of those people are not allowed. To be strong and welcome in the in the Democratic Party and so that civil war is going on, what you need to know Is that the Kamala Harris – Biden trade was worse for Democrats, and you are going to see real, real trouble in the coming weeks because as I mentioned elected officials, the Democrats in this case, they care about votes they care about dollars and they’re both failing and fading with Kamala Harris.
