And also we will have a chance to see what he thinks about the state of the Union speech, which will is always interesting. John Schlafly’s always got a good perspective. We’ll also visit This week with my old friend John Zadrozny. John Zadrozny is over at America First Legal. He’s a lawyer, but his his his forte is digging into investigations that’s the role digging deep into stuff and he’s got a couple of investigations Going that he’s gonna fill us in on, he’s very good guy and a very interesting guy because of his sort of some people are really good at, You know the the deep dive as they say, he’s one of them, and so he’s he’ll give us a perspective on some of the border issues some of the money, follow the Money on the Border issues and and a lot more alright. But first what you need to know.
Today’s WYNK, what you need to know about the state of the Union speech. Watching the state of the Union speech. And I watched it Now. I went back to watch it. I didn’t watch it live. I read about it, I saw Clips, and here’s the thing. Joe Biden has a problem. He may not realize he’s got a problem, but he’s got a problem and the problem is that he believes that being angry, being angry and scaring people will get him reelected and he, that was, you know, let’s let’s pause and say what I told you a couple of days ago.
The state of the Union was in fact, the reelection kick off. 2024 will include Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on the ticket. They will run for president. The only thing that gets in the way of that. Is some unforeseen health issue in my opinion. Otherwise you know everything else is cleared out. There’s not an argument if you watch the Democrats both in the in the Chamber watching Biden speak and then afterwards in coverage, they’re effusive in their praise of Joe Biden. They say it’s great, so I mean, he’s not, he is running and he’s running and that was a, It was a kick off so now you say what’s his reason? And what he’s hoping is the economy is going to be good enough. It’s going to have improved in ways that he can talk about. That’s I think that’s one thing, and I think he’s got, gonna have some details He can hang his hat on. I’m not sure it’ll be sufficient when unemployment numbers are good like they’ve been. That’s one thing, but when inflation’s so high, that’s another. Wages are stagnant. That’s another, and so I don’t think Biden’s gonna have that argument.
But the broader context of this is people want to elect someone who fits their mood. And Biden comes across as angry in an arrogant way. I don’t know him. I’ve never met. I guess maybe I met him once. Can’t remember if I was met him, met him or if I was just in the room with him. I’ve been in Judiciary Committee meetings. I think he must have been there but but he comes across as a guy who’s angry and arrogant. He knows better than you and me, and he’s angry that we’re not just letting him take care of everything. So now that’s not totally uncommon in people in power. In other words, if you’re in power, you start to think how can people doubt me? I’m in power, you know, I’m the president of the United States. It’s kind of a common thing both parties has to do with power. But most politicians fake it. They fake a sort of humility.
And Joe Biden doesn’t have that, and in a certain sense you can’t blame him, because even when he’s failed, he succeeded. Even when he washed out for two races for President, he still was reelected for Senate, and in one case he was then made VP candidate and won. And even when he didn’t run for president in 2016 and most people said his career is over, it’s gonna be Hillary Clinton who’s the next president. He he still fell forward. And ended up as president. So my point is his his when you say to him I’ll be be more humble. You shouldn’t run or you should be more. He’s like look I I keep doing this and I keep succeeding. What are you talking about? That’s kind of how I think he thinks. So when he he’s yelling as someone said, he was yelling during the state of the union that did in in ways that seemed angry. That didn’t match what he was talking about, and he was kind of cantankerous with the Republicans and kind of this kind of, He’s kind of angry and arrogant.
And he thinks being angry fits the mood. He also thinks that he can scare everybody with the same language of democracy is on the ballot and be afraid of what is is happening and all that. I, I’m not. I think he’s got a problem.
And here’s the contrast. He’s clearly running against Donald Trump, and Trump is — wait for it, I know you gonna think it’s a little crazy, but you have to follow me. He’s kind of humble and hungry. Meaning he lost. He’s out of office and he’s trying to get back in office, so he’s kind of hungry, he’s hustling. He released a 2 minute state of the Union speech at the end of Biden’s state of the Union. He’s kind of hungry to to to get back of course, but also to get engaged. Get people to Listen to him. He’s hungry and he comes across As more humble, more frustrated with where the country’s going and wanting it to be better. It fits the mood better I think. I think now we’ll see once it’s head to head and you’re talking about, you know a year and a half from now it changes everything and a lot of things will change in between. But you don’t get to be in politics.
Being angry is always a sort of knife’s edge, and and Trump kind of did it In 2016, he didn’t as President, sitting president. It’s hard to be as angry. You’re the guy in charge in 2020. But in this case he’s kind of got this frustrated with the direction wants to make America great again. It kind of works.
And I will tell you that when Joe Biden in his state of the Union speech but, completely lied about Republicans wanting to end or cut Medicare and Social Security, that was a total lie. And that was a vicious lie. And it’s the kind of lie that really is so nasty. It made Republicans react, they. You saw them sort of jump up into it and react, which is very uncommon. I mean, it’s really uncommon. And so he’s like he and his his whole campaign, The last time was premised on the lie of the fine people hoax in Charlottesville, where he claims Donald Trump called the neo-Nazis and white supremacists fine people, which he didn’t, and the video shows he didn’t.
But Joe Biden says it over and over again to people and says, you know, believe in hate, believe in division, believe in anger, believe in arrogance.
And the problem is, it worked once for Biden, because the media, because big tech and because in some sense the incumbent Donald Trump in office, were you know, were able to to make Biden seem fresher and to and more, you know, more uniting and all that stuff.
Please remember by the way, one of my predictions is that we would never have again a 2 term president because it’s too hard to stand in those klieg lights. The brightness of them is too hard To do. And that’s what I think is actually. And maybe I should have said two consecutive presidents. Because when you’re the guy in the big chair and you’re every day, it’s your America. Joe Biden’s. You’re going to pay a price for that. As people are frustrated with the direction of things, they’re frustrated with the idea of a a third World War, a nuclear Armageddon. And so if Trump can get the nomination. It’s a contrast. And so let me reinvigorate restate my prediction. There will never be a two term consecutive two term President again in American history because the brightness of the lights and the difficulty of the road, role, and the power of the office that demands that you have so much influence on everything will make it impossible.
But Biden’s state of the Union, a campaign speech, was filled with lies, filled with anger, filled with arrogance. That’s not how you win. I don’t think it’s how you win, but we’ll see, we’ll, we’ll see, that’s where we are, right? That’s what you need to know we’re gonna take a break we’ll come back and talk with John Schlafly. We’ll also visit with John Zadrozny, so a pair of Johns coming back after the break. I
