Democrat Pollsters Panic About a Midterm Disaster
Washington, D.C.: “The Biden Administration’s dash lights are warning of political disaster, but the White House doesn’t seem to realize what’s happening,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Joe Biden and the Democrat election machine are bragging about gas prices declining 3-7 cents in recent weeks. This PR campaign touting gas savings would be laughable if it weren’t so tone deaf of the daily lives of America’s working class.”
U.S. gas retail prices are more than a dollar higher than a year ago and far higher than any time during the entire previous administration. The national average is on a frightening trajectory toward the prices found during the Great Recession from 2007-2009.
“Gas prices are just one piece of the puzzle that Democrats don’t get,” Martin said. “An angry freight train called the American public is headed their way — and it’s not just conservatives. People of every political persuasion, including those who just don’t pay attention or care, are increasingly angry and frightened over the state of our economy.”
Joe Biden has only 16% “strong approval” according to even the liberal pollsters. Independents “strongly” disapprove of Biden to the tune of 38%, and the staggering differences between strongly approve and disapprove are the same across many key demographics for the Democrats’ electoral hopes.
Martin concluded, “People are mad and they ought to be! The Biden administration has willfully walked back the United States’ energy independence created under President Trump, and the result is essentially a tax, not on the wealthy, but on the working and middle classes of America who have to drive to work and school. Make no mistake — gas price spikes aren’t accidental. They are the result of conscious decisions by the executive leaders of our federal government.”
