Washington, D.C.: “As if on cue with the completion of the so-called ‘Respect for Marriage’ act, Cambridge Dictionary has ‘updated’ its definitions of man and woman,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “No longer are we adult human females and males, says Cambridge Dictionary. Now we are adults who ‘live and identify’ as that sex.”
“Even Orwell would likely be shocked at the speed with which social engineering is moving today,” Martin continued. “What’s almost more terrifying is when woke ideology invades in a subtle way, as Cambridge has done here. A spokesman claims that this change was made back in October, and with no fanfare, press release, or news stories as is often the case with progressives crowing about how woke they are.
“This just slipped through and has been a part of online Cambridge Dictionary use for weeks now! Society cannot successfully move forward if we allow the whims of radical ideology to strip out all concrete scientific facts from our lives. Civil societies cannot stand on the crumbling tower of moral relativism! Cambridge Dictionary users should sound off immediately and take their word searches elsewhere. As consumers in a capitalistic culture, we must remember the power of the dollar is where our voices lie for big corporations. Cambridge needs to feel the heat for such radical and outlandish changes.”
