Washington, D.C.: The Idaho legislature just triggered a massive overhaul of the state’s regulatory code. When the session came to a close without re-authorizing past regulatory rules, a ‘reset’ protocol went into effect. All state regulations will now expire on July 1, at which time Idaho’s first term Governor Brad Little must select which codes the state will keep.
“Idaho is showing leadership for the rest of the nation, including our federal government!” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Now they have everything they need to completely strip out burdensome red tape and outdated regulations. This overhaul is an excellent model for other states to consider. Idaho is showing the nation that they are open for business, prosperity, and freedom.”
