AG Merrick Garland Announces Federal Suit Against Georgia Election Laws
Washington, D.C.: “Since November 2020, the radical left has peddled the narrative that to question the security of the 2020 election or suggest election reforms is patently racist,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Now Big Government elites are stepping up to help their Big Tech and Big Media cohorts. AG Garland announced on Friday that the Department of Justice is suing Georgia over election laws passed this year.
“Since passage of these reforms, Georgia has been the central figure of the left’s hatred. From woke corporations to Big Government bullies, Georgia has taken the brunt of the left’s insistence that any secure election measures are aimed at stopping minorities from voting. Anyone can easily see that the opposite, in fact, is true. Protecting the voting rights of all citizens means ensuring that no one can game the system.”
Martin concluded, “No matter the truth, it won’t stop the left from their radical march to destroy our electoral integrity. Shame on Merrick Garland and the DOJ for using the weight of federal government to enforce a blatantly false narrative about race and voting. This flagrant display of taxpayer-funded power being used against citizens expressing political dissent is disgusting.”
