Results Are Possible! Colorado Settles in Court, Agrees on Reports to Judicial Watch
Washington, D.C.: “Leave it to Tom Fitton and his indefatigable team at Judicial Watch to prove that results can be achieved!” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “After two long years of lawsuits, the Colorado secretary of state has announced that they will agree to settle a lawsuit from Judicial Watch over CO’s terrible voter rolls.
“The blue state has long ignored the requirements of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, but Judicial Watch’s persistence has paid off. Part of the settlement will include annual reports of every CO county to the watchdog group for the next six years. Even sooner, though, has already been an incredible leap of movement. Since this lawsuit began in 2020, Colorado has already increased their voter roll removals by 78%.
“It shouldn’t take a watchdog group at your heels to perform basic duties as a government servant. One of the fundamentals of free and fair elections is to ensure that your voter registration rolls are regularly maintained and deceased and recently moved voters are purged. Especially in the era of mail-in ballots and early voting, leaving names on the roll who are no longer eligible to vote leaves the door open wide for ballot harvesting.
“Congratulations to Judicial Watch, good for Colorado citizens, and may this be an encouragement to all of us in the fight for truth and transparency! We must be persistent, and change can come. The battle for electoral sanity and freedom in America is far from over, and we cannot lose steam.”
