While Americans Pay at the Pump, Biden Points Fingers
Washington, D.C.: “President Biden’s Neville Chamberlain moment came when he infamously promised that America’s inflation problem was only ‘transitory’,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “He apparently hasn’t learned from his mistake, because he now claims that gas prices can be attributed to merely a ‘transition’ in the economy.”
Last year, President Biden promised Americans that the increase in prices that many were seeing at the grocery store, the gas pump, and elsewhere were merely transitory effects of COVID-19. Since that time, inflation has escalated to levels not seen in more than forty years, with no sign of letting up.”
“Biden may use words like ‘transitory’ and ‘transition’ to stave off the inevitable reckoning of his failed administration, but he is only digging himself a deeper hole,” Martin remarked. “Despite what Biden may claim, the pressure Americans are feeling today can be traced directly to his horrible policies. Spending money that the federal government does not have on massive spending bills will inevitably lead to inflation. Stonewalling American energy producers will inevitably lead to higher gas prices.
“America may have to go through a transition before we see inflation subside, but it is not the transition President Biden is talking about. The transition America needs can only happen at the ballot box.”
