Washington, D.C.: “Even as all attention has been on the out-of-control FBI and corrupt Department of Justice this week, Americans are bracing for the buildup of another intrusive federal agency,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Americans know the so-called ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ will do exactly the opposite, and the full spectrum of trouble headed for the average taxpayer is coming into view.”
New polls from the last two weeks definitively show that Americans disapprove of Congress’s agenda on inflation and the climate, and see recent Democrat bills as a likely source of increased cost for average Americans.
“More concerning than the sheer amount these bills will spend is what the money’s going toward,” Martin continued. “On the other side of the ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ are legions of federal tax agents that are (quite literally) armed and ready to audit the life out of somebody! Joe Biden and his White House minions can claim all they want that average working families won’t be affected, but Americans know that’s just not the case. With 87,000 new IRS employees on the horizon, harassing working class Americans is an inevitability.
“Economists, experts, and voters alike know that the coming legislation will only make inflation worse. Congress better listen up and not send our economic doom to the desk of President Biden. They should all take a lesson from the most popular Democrat in America, Joe Machin, who’s approval rating plummetted 29 points after voting in favor of the terrible ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ of 2022.”
