IRS Changes, Mar-a-Lago Raid May Be Last Hope for Change
Washington, D.C.: “I can only hope that the raid on Donald Trump’s home this week will cement a new polling trend and drive voters to take action!” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Trafalgar has made a pretty solid habit of being close in the notoriously unreliable world of political polling, and their recent numbers tell a frightening story about Americans’ confidence in our justice system.”
Between July 24-28, Trafalgar found that nearly 80% of Americans believe that there are two sets of laws in America — one that applies to the elite, ruling class of insiders and one that applies to everyone else. This clear majority was found across party lines, with two-thirds of democrats agreeing, nearly 90% of Republicans agreeing, and more than three-quarters of independents.
“These numbers are absolutely staggering,” Martin continued, “and this week the out-of-control FBI and DOJ proved them right! The FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago is the capstone of a long-displayed double standard, clearly dividing how insiders and outsiders are treated differently. The upcoming changes to the IRS, if the House passes the so-called ‘Inflation Reduction Act,’ will only add fuel to that fire, as working Americans will be targeted more than ever before for audits and harassment.
“The divide between We the People and the corrupt administrative state is widening, and I pray that this week’s raid on Mar-a-Lago solidifies not just disgust but action from voters!”
