Rushing Kids Into Permanent Decisions With No Research to Back It Up
Washington, D.C.: Jamie Reed, a former case worker at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital transgender center, is blowing the whistle on the incredibly unethical and unaccountable behavior she witnessed in her time at the clinic, not only in her own facility but across this industry of transitioning children.
“We owe this woman a debt of gratitude for telling her story,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “You see, she is putting a lot on the line to speak up for these kids. She’s no political conservative or ‘right winger.’ She describes herself as queer, married to a trans individual, and politically more progressive than Bernie Sanders.”
Sen. Josh Hawley (MO) swiftly launched an investigation into the matter upon the article’s release yesterday. We need bold leadership like his across government at every level now to drag disgusting practices like these into the light and demand accountability.
“So why would she tell all against the politically correct provision of so-called gender affirming care to kids?” Martin asks. “She reveals clinic directors act with zero accountability, there is literally no research to back up their claims about the risk to ‘untreated’ [read: non-transitioned] patients, and the treatment of parents and the disdain for their families is exactly opposite of the medical creed to ‘do no harm.'”
In short, and in her words: ‘What is happening to them [children] is morally and medically appalling.”
Martin continued, “Jamie Reed reports that her clinic, and likely others around the nation, essentially shoved young kids with mental health problems along the path of hormone drugs and surgery as fast as possible, with no regard for real issues. In fact, she claims that many young patients didn’t even present issues of gender dysphoria! She says they came in on huge lists of drugs already and presented with schizophrenia, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and more; yet they are immediately moved to hormone drugs and transitioning procedures.
“Reed’s exposé is critically important at this moment in America. Her article is a must-read for us all, and we must share it for the world to see. Kids first, political agenda last — this must be our clarion call! We should all be grateful for Jamie Reed’s willingness to put kids’ wellbeing ahead of the gender transition industry’s lies.”
