Supreme Court May Soon Review Kentucky Law
Washington, D.C.: The Texas Senate moved through several strong pro-life measures, ranging from a heartbeat bill to a Roe v. Wade trigger law, as well as many other protections.
“The Texas legislature is leading the fight to protect unborn life in 2021,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “They have advanced many great protections for life and we know from the past that Texas isn’t afraid to stand up at the federal level and do what’s right. With a new Supreme Court makeup (thanks to Trump’s three nominations), Texas may well be the leading voice that takes the fight for life all the way to the High Court again and wins.
“Already, the issue of defending unborn human life is knocking at the justices’ bronzed doors. The Court agreed to review, in part, a pro-life related case from Kentucky. Though the review will be very narrow — whether Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron will be allowed to bring this case to the Court — it’s likely a precursor to the many cases headed that way.”
Martin concluded: “We wish AG Cameron all the best in his fight and we are so grateful for the leadership of the Texas Senate! May they be successful in defending our basic natural rights and may other state legislatures find the boldness to follow Texas’s lead.”
