Washington, D.C.: The Senate Judiciary Committee will have a full committee hearing today on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act tomorrow. This bill is sponsored by Sen. Lindsey Graham and has 44 cosponsors in the Senate. This bill would restrict abortion on an unborn child past 20 weeks.
“We are grateful for Senator Graham’s leadership on this bill and we wholeheartedly support any effort to save the lives of unborn babies,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “This bill would do exactly that and we are glad to see so many senators cosponsoring the legislation. We also look forward to a pro-life Senator taking up leadership of the Heartbeat Bill (HR 490) and leading the cause in the Senate.
Eagles are working tirelessly to see the Heartbeat Bill passed in nearly two dozen state legislatures. These causes that defend the lives of the most innocent Americans are worthy of time and tireless leadership. We are thankful for the pro-life commitment of those backing the Pain Capable Act and ask they see the bill through to the President’s desk and return to work on passing the Heartbeat Bill as well.”
