St. Louis, MO: The Ohio House of Representatives is set to pass the Heartbeat Bill this afternoon. The legislation has already passed the Senate and would need Senate approval again on changes made in the House. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has already announced he will sign the bill.
“We are thrilled to see this movement for life in Ohio,” said Phyllis Schlafly Eagles President Ed Martin. “While we watch and work for Heartbeat Bills in many states this year, Ohio is a particularly wonderful victory for Janet Porter who crafted and spearheaded this legislation in her home state. After two prior vetoes by liberal Republican Gov. John Kasich, this year will be a welcome victory for pro-life advocates in Ohio.
“We are proud of Janet Porter’s work and glad to work toward this wonderful protection for the unborn in states across the nation.”
