Democrats and their corporate media allies will go to great lengths to demonize pro-life laws, even fabricating stories to fit their radical agenda. ProPublica’s hit piece, blaming Georgia’s pro-life law for the tragic death of Amber Nicole Thurman, is a perfect example of this deceitful strategy.
The truth is that Thurman died from complications related to taking abortion pills—not because of any pro-life law. Monique Wubbenhorst and Mary Hallan Fiorito reported in the Federalist that ProPublica conveniently omits that she ingested the dangerous chemical abortion regimen, mifepristone and misoprostol, which carries known risks, including infection, excessive bleeding, and incomplete expulsion of the baby. Yet Democrats, eager to expand access to abortion at any cost, continue to downplay these risks, ignoring the countless women who suffer complications from these pills.
ProPublica’s author attempts to conflate the legitimate medical procedure of dilation and curettage (D&C) with elective abortion, further misleading the public. The Georgia law, contrary to the article’s claims, does not criminalize D&Cs—it restricts the intentional killing of unborn children. The D&C procedure should have been performed immediately to save Thurman’s life, and nothing in the law would have prevented that.
The pro-abortion narrative is riddled with misinformation. ProPublica minimizes the dangers of chemical abortions, painting them as “rare” complications. In reality, thousands of women experience severe side effects every year, and many, like Thurman, suffer because they don’t receive the proper follow-up care after taking the abortion pill. It’s a gross dereliction of responsibility on the part of the media and the abortion industry, which cares more about profits than protecting women.
Amber Thurman’s death was not caused by pro-life laws. It was caused by the unsafe practices pushed by the abortion lobby, and it’s time the media stopped spreading lies to protect them.
