Washington, D.C.: Pennsylvania State Representative Brian Sims is a rising star in the Democratic party but finds himself in hot water this week. Several recent online videos he posted include him publicly berating pro-life activists praying outside a Planned Parenthood. Drawing particular ire is a video of him harassing and threatening three teenage girls and their mother. He offered internet followers a cash reward to publicly reveal the identities of these minors. Sims posted a scripted, unapologetic “apology” video afterward, but the state Democrat Party has been otherwise silent. There is a quickly growing movement calling for his resignationover these vicious viral attacks.
Several pro-life groups held a rally in Philadelphia this morningat the Planned Parenthood location in response to Sims. Sponsored by Lila Rose of Live Action, Abby Johnson of 40 Days for Life, and many others, hundreds of people crowded into the street to support the pro-life movement.
“Watching these disturbing videos might lead you to believe they were taken by a crazed person on the street,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Shockingly, they are from an elected representative – a rising Democrat star no less! This man truly represents the mainstream of the progressive movement. They approve of any vile and violent means necessary to silence and shame defenders of life.
“His actions, particularly toward underage girls, is despicable. These are no fringe actions; they represent the beliefs of the modern Democrat Party. From New York to Virginia and now to Pennsylvania, Democrats can no longer hide the gruesome face of their radical defense of killing innocent children.”
