Washington, D.C.: “The Idaho legislature has officially sent their Heartbeat Bill to the desk of Governor Brad Little, and we look forward to his swift signature making this bill law,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Idaho would become the twelfth state to enact a Heartbeat Law, which would illegalize abortion once a child’s heartbeat is detected. We are grateful for the tireless work of leaders like Idaho Eagle leader and State Rep. Tammy Nichols. We are also grateful for Janet Porter, the visionary founder and president of Faith2Action who championed the nation’s first Heartbeat Bill. Thanks to Rep. Nichols, Janet Porter, and other leaders like them, future generations of Americans will have a chance to embrace their right to ‘life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.'”
