Washington, D.C.: The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a final ruling allowing a June 20 ruling which lifts a block on the Title X “Protect Life” Rule nationwide. This new Health and Human Services rule strips Title X federal funding from abortion providers like Planned Parenthood, which receives $60 million each year in Title X funding. Several pro-life senators and representatives filed an amicus brief in support of the rule, including Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) who chairs the Senate Pro-Life Caucus.
“This is a big pro-life win from the typically liberal 9th Circuit Court,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “The 9th Circuit ruled in favor of the regulation 7-4 because they knew the Trump Administration could win on the legal merits of this case. We are grateful for the many pro-life leaders who stood up for this rule — from the Trump administration and agencies to the vocal Senators and Representatives who filed briefs in support. We are also grateful to leaders like Pro-Life Caucus chair Sen. Steve Daines for keeping conservatives informed on this case.
“I’m proud to see America take another meaningful step in defense of the unborn. More Americans than ever before are realizing that pro-abortion liberals are on the wrong side of science and our American values.
