Washington, D.C.: In a meandering response to the DOJ’s appeal of Judge Mizelle’s striking down of the public transit mask mandate, Press Secretary Jen Psaki managed to admit that the appeal isn’t meant to support science, evidence, or even public health, but to “preserve that authority for the CDC to have in the future.”
“It’s nice to finally hear the Biden Administration admit what we all know,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “The erroneous continuance of lockdowns and mandates aren’t about health and safety whatsoever. They are all moves to secure federal control of our personal decisions.
“In fact, the left’s power-grabs-by-another-name don’t stop at public health. Their ‘equity’ agenda marching through federal agencies and our public schools has nothing to do with equality and everything to do with government picking winners and losers.”
More than 90 federal agencies announced “equity action plans” this week in alignment with Biden’s Executive Order 13985, titled “Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government.” (Signed his first day in office.)
“The new equity plans announced by the Department of Energy and others are going to be deadly blows to merit and achievement in America,” Martin continued. “Biden’s radical administration may insist their goal is to lift up minority communities, but all they are really doing is admitting that they don’t believe minorities can succeed on their own merits. More than anything else, it is an insult to the very people they claim to care about. Their primary objective is government by political agenda and not in the best interest of our nation.
“Don’t be fooled! Lockdowns and mask mandates are no more about public health than so-called ‘equity action plans’ are about minority advancement. All of these measures have one simple purpose — solidifying the executive’s absolute authority over We the People.”
