Contract Reveals Sacrificing of Seniority In Favor of Correcting “Past Discrimination”
Washington, D.C.: “The recently released content of a contract between Minneapolis Public Schools and the teachers union is raising some eyebrows,” said Phyllis Schlafly Eagles President Ed Martin.
According to the document, beginning in 2023 if a teacher to be excessed (laid off or reassigned) is a “member of a population underrepresented among licensed teachers in the site,” then the district will be required to remove the “next least senior teacher, who is not a member of an underrepresented group.”
“It’s fairly shocking, but crystal clear,” Martin continued. “Minneapolis public schools will prioritize laying off white teachers before minority groups. Gone are the days of merit and seniority, arrived are the days of Wokeism, fomenting racist divides among Americans and shredding the very fabric of the United States. We must fight this radical, marxist leftism in all its forms. From law and the courts to the classroom and public school contacts, the woke left is undermining our 250 years of American experience and the great strides we have made for liberty, equality, and prosperity. We must stop them.”
