St. Louis, MO: Late yesterday in a shocking move, the New York State Senate passed a bill removing nearly all restrictions on abortion. For ten years, radical pro-abortion advocates have attempted to pass this language, allowing abortion essentially without restriction until the 9th month of pregnancy.
“This move by the Senate will descend New York into darkness and moral chaos,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “For decades, even most abortion activists have supported partial-birth or late-term abortion bans — but gone are the days of pretending. The true evil of extremist marxism now shows its face.
“This is a dark time for our nation. New York state is about to redefine a ‘person’ as ‘a human being who has been born and is alive…’ This bill codifies abortion as a ‘fundamental right.’ Our first and most fundamental right is that to live — and it is our government’s job to secure that God-given right. Not to change it.
“Shame on the New York Senate for passing this pure evil. Shame on Gov. Andrew Cuomo for demanding its passage even to the point of threatening to stop the budget. Shame on the cultural marxists and moral relativists that are destroying our America and plunging us into darkness. This bill must be stopped.”
