Abortion has become a symbol for many suburban white women, yet their personal experience with it is quite limited, Chronicles Magazine reports. In fact, most have never faced the issue firsthand, and unless the United States undergoes radical societal changes, it’s likely their daughters won’t either. We’re not living in the late-stage USSR, where the average woman had 6.7 abortions, with a thriving black market for illegal procedures. Instead, America offers women countless options to prevent pregnancy in the first place, making abortion more of a talking point than a real-life event for many affluent women.
Despite this, abortion rights remain a top priority for this demographic. Feminist leaders encourage women to “shout” their abortions, as if making it a louder issue will somehow make it more relevant. But they overlook the real concerns right in front of them: the declining state of America. The very systems that allow for “safe and legal” abortions, like clean hospitals and competent doctors, rely on a strong and functioning society. And, make no mistake, nothing about an abortion is safe for the murdered baby. If American civilization continues its downward spiral—thanks in large part to progressive policies—these systems will falter.
America’s economic failures, from inflation to housing bubbles, aren’t the only dangers. Educational declines and the “woke” takeover of institutions threaten the competence of our future doctors. What good is the right to an abortion when the procedure could be done by someone unqualified, in an unclean facility? Suburban white women might be fighting for a right they will never need, all while ignoring the pressing need to save the country their children will inherit. If they don’t wake up to these realities, they may soon discover firsthand what it’s like to live in a nation where even basic healthcare can’t be trusted.
