Concerned Parents Are the Driving Force of Local and Midterm Elections
Washington, D.C.: “Diligent parents in school districts around Fort Worth, Texas did some house cleaning this weekend!” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Conservative school board candidates swept into ten seats, removing three incumbents, and did so on starkly different messaging than the tired, typical teachers union verbiage. The reformers’ platform centered on transparency, no masks, and no critical race theory, and it resonated with frustrated parents who now understand how widespread the indoctrination of their kids really is.
“If there’s a bright spot from the draconian lockdowns of the pandemic, it’s that parents got a bird’s-eye view into the classrooms of their children. Radical ideology was far more widespread than many believed, affecting even red states and rural districts. The response began as a low rumble across many states, erupted in Loudoun County, Virginia, and is now echoing electorally across the nation. This is great news!
“School board elections have been largely passed over by the voters for far too long. It’s time for these positions to receive the scrutiny and care they deserve, and, in many places, a good cleaning out! From Virginia, to Florida, now to Texas — parents are driving the electoral agenda.
“Mark my words, concerned parents will be the dominant force in the 2022 midterm elections. Conservative politicians and candidates ought to take notice! Social issues, despite what tired GOP consultants preach, are definitely the ‘big tent’ issues with these newly activated voters. We have to be bold and unashamed of our traditional values, and an energetic wave of support will flock to us. 2022 will not just be a ‘Red Wave,’ but a wave of conservative reform from the bottom up!”
