Many States, Districts See Flip To Conservative Control
Washington, D.C.: “The August 23 elections brought some incredible school board victories across the nation,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “From a new Oklahoma State Superintendent to several Florida counties, conservatives and concerned parents made electoral waves in their communities, upending leftwing control of many major school boards. Adding icing to the electoral cake, a Texas school board also voted on Tuesday to ban Critical Race Theory and gender ideology from classrooms. That school board was flipped to conservative control last May.
“Too often, the voters get heated about school board issues and then the interest dissipates with no real change. The wave of virtual schooling from 2020 combined with gutsy liberals over-reaching in Virginia last year has absolutely turned that apathetic tide. Parents are hot and bothered about what’s being taught to their kids and by whom, and it’s only heating up. The midterm elections are being driven by parents who are mad and they’re doing something about it.
“Five major Florida counties saw a landmark shift last night away from leftist majority to conservative, notably the massive Miami Dade School District of over 300,000 students. These huge victories are due not only to concerned parents, but to the great help and organization of grassroots groups like the 1776 Project PAC and their team. Conservatives need to realize that if we’re going to save America and return to our root values of liberty, we’re going to have to do it from the ground up! I am so excited for this momentum and I pray that it continues.”
