Washington, D.C.: Disney-Pixar’s latest venture into theaters with Lightyear has managed to kill a family classic and drive away audiences all at the same time. Lightyear barely broke even this weekend, falling behind in North American box office sales to the second weekend of the latest Jurassic World installment and barely surpassing the sensation of Top Gun: Maverick, now in it’s fourth week of record-making theater appearance.
“Walt Disney would surely roll over in his grave to see his great empire of family entertain devolved into the biggest pusher of anti-family ideology,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Disney’s been in hot water for years with pro-family audiences, and they’re finally starting to pay the price. Their childish insistence to ‘punish’ Florida and Governor Ron DeSantis by ham-fistedly portraying lesbian romance in an animated movie is hopefully the beginning of the end of Disney’s reigning economic success.
“For many of us both as parents and young people ourselves, Pixar’s animated films have crafted meaningful and long-lasting hits, most notably the Toy Story dynasty. But Disney’s seepage of wokeism across all of their work has finally managed to kill even the greatest lineup of beloved family classics.”
Martin concluded, “Dead are the values of heroism, loyalty, and selflessness in the world of Disney-Pixar classics. They are now all about the business of peddling gender ideology and forcing you to be okay with it. It’s high time that disturbed families say no with their dollars, and that’s exactly the tide that is turning.”
