Citizen Action Works — The Voice of the People Has Been Heard
Washington, D.C.: Today it was announced that the White House plans to withdraw the nomination of David Chipman to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
“This is a huge win for the Constitution and for We the People,” said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “David Chipman would have led the worst assault against the rights of law-abiding gun owners in our history. In addition to his gun-grabbing activism, his career is beleaguered with statements that reveal his gross disregard for the role of federal government and the Constitution.
“This wonderful news is a victory for every American citizen. It is proof positive that when We the People raise our voice, political mountains can move. Countless citizens sounded off to Congress about Chipman’s nomination, and Democrats could not hold their caucus together.”
Martin concluded: “Today’s win should encourage millions of Americans to make their voices heard by their elected representatives.”
