We must Stand Up for True the Vote
Washington, D.C.: “Two leaders of the phenomenal group True the Vote were arrested this morning after being held in contempt of court for not revealing a confidential source,” Phyllis Schlafly Eagles president Ed Martin said. “Federal Judge Kenneth Hoyt of Texas’s Southern District ordered Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips taken into custody after they have refused another confidential source to be doxxed and threatened. Catherine and Gregg have done reliable and wonderful work through True the Vote, and we can’t stand for more blatant bullying of conservatives who want election transparency.”
The pair testified that identifying their informant in open court would certainly put him at risk. Engelbrecht went so far as to say “Every name I give you gets doxxed and harassed.” The left has been gunning for True the Vote’s leadership even harder since the arrest of election software company Konnech’s CEO Eugene Yu for illegally storing election information on Chinese servers.
“Catherine and Gregg have been fearless in the face of the leftist machine,” Martin continued. “No matter the obstacle, they have pursued transparency and justice in our U.S. elections. There are few other more effective activists that the left would love to knock out of the fight over transparency in America. We must stand up for Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips. We cannot allow True the Vote to be knocked out of the battle for our nation’s future!”
